Magic Symbol Search

I have been searching all over the place like crazy, using a variety of keywords to try and find something that I have found once before but now it seems to be like I can not figure out where it is...

Now with my side of the problem stated/ranted, does anyone know of a site (or at least what they are called) that has symbols that help empowering? Such as luck, health, enhancing, etc. (Symbols typically having a gap in there shape)

I only remember a couple symbols that I found. Typically circular, one had an ankh where it is touching the the outer circle by its four points. Another if I remember correctly had a circle with and X in the middle touching with its four points with a solid, smaller circle over it. So it would have a gap in the middle.

Why I am asking is because I have used these before for an experiment. (one that didn't end so well since I was both inexperienced and failed to properly cast the spell) [on another note the backfire is acting up again for no apparent reason...]
I used the X circle one since I could easily place another symbol into it. So a type of "Symbol Overlaying" to put it briefly. Thank you for taking the time to read and for responding to my quest. Any information will be helpful, Love All

I thought the first one might have been a Coptic cross but it isn't.

Second one might be a sort of "lamen"? Google image search has a lot of noodle soup for some reason, but get past that and there's some with concentric circles but none that I could see with an X... although that does sound familiar.

The second one almost sounds like an improperly drawn symbol from the Jupiter talisman, from the Magus. An ankh is the joining of the Egyptian male and female symbols, it can be used for sexual power, or to represent mirrored things, like life and death. It is also seen as a key. Circles represent eternity, so an ankh with a circle could be used to represent eternal power. But a cross or x represents a path, or cross road. It sounds like you are describing a broken path. That won't work for anything unless you are trying to use it to get off of a bad cycle, like breaking the path of addiction. I'll look at my books tonight and see what I can find, but I'd just stick with the ankh in the circle for now.

I would be interested to know what books you consult with lyceum for the information on symbols if you permit sharing it with me.

For Aeons, thank you for sharing more symbols with me. I am always looking towards broadening my horizon.

I think the Ankh symbol may have been part of my mind (I must have generated it out of desperation for symbols in my past) but let me clarify what I was looking for.

What is the grouping/class of these symbols called?

As well when I was saying using symbols to overlap and described the symbols kind of doing the same thing... Confusion. The circle with broken X symbol was a symbol all on its own, I paired it with a Runic for either a Luck or Happy spell (I do not remember the Runic I used, it was over a year ago I used it) If I recall the purpose of the circle it was to empower the symbol in it. It may also have been a +, I do remember writing it down, best I go look for it. (Should have done it in the first place... Long days.)

Ah! It was probably Gebo, then. (The X rune). I sometimes use Algiz in a circle, so it looks just like an upside-down peace sign. The Aegishjalmur is immensely effective, I've felt but, haha, I think it looks ugly.

Do you mean you used to make sigils ?

Kanto, sorry I got tied up last night and didn't get to crack the books. But I can tell you that I normally start wit Dictionary of Symbols by Carl G. Liungman. It has a good number of symbols, and from there I can get the name or names of a symbol and dig deeper. He doesn't always do the best job in the finer details, but his book has so many it's a great place to start.

I'll let you know what I find and where I find it. When I spout stuff off the top of my head though, that's where I'm getting it. I've studied this stuff for decades and so I don't always remember where I learned what I know. But if you need me to, I can always back it up :)

You could always make up your own symbols and charge them with intent and meaning.

i suggest looking into a variety of symbolism; basic and sacred geometry, bind runes, Austin Osman Spare method of sigilization, I Ching trigrams/ hexagrams, alchemical/ planetary symbols, just do a general review and you will begin to understand the subtleties of something even as simple as a curved line.

From there you will be well equipped to start putting pencil to paper.

An X in a circle, if the X is more like a plus sign/cross is a sun wheel.

I think people might be misunderstanding what it looks like, and it is probably my fault for not describing it very well. So I uploaded a picture that may help:

The picture is on the site so you do not need to go far for it. I do not mean sigils. I have looked those up and they are not what I meant by "Symbol Overlaying". More like how alchemy has a space in the tiny circles of the whole symbol where you would put a symbol for copper, zinc, or what not. (Can't think of them right off the top of my head)

I have been studying alchemy for a short time, but I will look into the classes that Svipal has mentioned. (might even find what I was looking for since before I did not have a great search keyword variety for the symbols)

After researching last night I found a few things, but yes I also had the wrong idea. That's just a circle. It looks like it's divided for the 4 elements

or directions on the compass.
