Fantasy Spells

I do not like bothering the Moderators unless I feel it absolutely neccasary. I certainly do not bother the Administrator unless a Moderator says it is Ok. That is why I posted this here as I am concerned but do not wish to waste their time with nothing. I consider myself open minded and as such I try not to be judgemental. That being said, I was surprised to find an area of Fantasy Spells when the site Terms of Service clearly say No Role Playing. So curiousity got the best of me. While browsing I found, under ' Vampire Spells ' there is actually a ' spell ' that suggest cutting to perform the spell. Now I know there are no such things as Vampires. I further know there are no real spells to turn someone into one. There are however young people who come here not knowing that. Is that not an unsafe thing to have? Considering the person who posted it has not even logged on since 2012, It has been there at least that long. Am I worrying over nothing? I am sure the Moderators are aware of it as its been there a while so I probably am worried over nothing as younger viewers may not even have access to it. I would rather ask and be wrong than not ask and feel guilty later if I am right to have worried.

I agree. Spells instructing cutting should be deleted. Good catch. Hope someone in charge does this. BB

From what I understand Moderators cannot delete spells. This capability is only available to Petrarca as the site Administrator, due to this ability being abused in the past. As such moderators can move spells and currently resort to moving them to the fantasy section when they feel they are fluff. The only other option I'm aware of is Publishers can edit spells, so I assume they could edit the cutting part out of the spell or add a warning to the spell. I agree that this could lead to younger, inexperienced members harming themselves and that is very unsettling.

I know the Administrator is overwhelmed with site improvements.

Well, maybe an editor can help. I hope so. I don't think it wise to instruct someone to cut themselves, especially for a fluff spell.

Agreed. I think spells should be checked before they are posted on the site. If you look at the spells section of the site, a lot of spells are fluff. Now it may put a false impression of what magick can do on newbies. So i guess keeping an editor as other members mentioned would be quite good.
