I would say that someone who believes that they are a werewolf and yet is complaining on here that they have tried 13 times without success to grow a tail is probably not someone that others should be looking to for help with magic. Your own posts show your lack of knowledge about real magic and your immaturity.

Lets not attack people Lark..
Each one has their own path they could think of themselves as a werewolf on a astral projection level. One of the key steps to high magick if Im not mistaken ;) sorry I love to playful converse. But really if someone offers help even if it is lack of experience who are you to judge I would hope "Doc" would know when a situation is over his head and direct them to a high priest or priestess

I would only consider it a failure to NOT address the issue of qualifications to teach on a subject as important as magic. I have been a High Priestess for some 20 years..as in with an actual, real-life coven in a Tradition that prides itself on the level of education and training required of its members. One of the major problems, IMHO, that I am seeing in the magical community and the Pagan community are people with little or no training, or who approach magic as though it was a role-playing game, setting themselves up as teachers. While this might be great for their egos and their self-esteem it does little for the gaining of accurate information and knowledge from those who they choose to teach.

The OP has set himself up as one who is a teacher...and therefore it would be assumed one who knows what they are talking about. I am pointing out that their posts here on this site suggest that the level of knowledge they claim to have on the subject is unsupported and that those looking for a genuine teacher need to consider whether such a person will give them the knowledge they wish to have.

The idea that we should never "judge" someone is simply ridiculous. We all make judgements all the time. Is that person someone I want around my kids? Is that person a true friend? Is that person possibly going to hurt me? Judgement keeps us from getting into situations that we don't want to be in.

Anyone who is seriously looking for a teacher of magic also needs to be making judgements. Does this person know what they are talking about? What is their background as far as experience and training? Are they mature enough to deal with conflicts that might arise? How many students have they actually taught? All of these are valid questions that should be asked before someone decides whether to accept another as a teacher...in other words makes a judgement.

I agree with much of what your saying...but you said it yourself his post are about werewolfs ect. I feel there is no harm on that type of level.

Now if this was a post where we were talking about the invoking or banishing of pentagrams the immediate elements of a true magician their base to stand on I may question more. Specially getting into more into serious things such as the inverted hexagrams dealing with ruling planets ect.

I guess I just assume most know where to seek information and know when there legs are being pulled I hope but maybe I have high hopes for people lol.

Anyway I read your bio and mad respect good sir I meant no harm in what I said. I myself am studying high magick and I would push to find the best possible teacher. I'm seeking a Golden Dawn or OTO type teaching though.

Very good reply Lark.

For DocEmmett88, at the same time is very good that you offer your help.

Isis *thumbs up* thats all I was trying to say >.< to offer help can be harmful I guess but its the intention that it is offered that counts. Luckly we have people to help watch over us Lark bringing up the facts he did Im sure will make people think not just the werewolf thing put the posts bout looking for a teacher
I think everybody is showing a little wisdom and kindness

Oh boy! Lark is on a roll! I'm behind Lark on this. We can't just sit idly by and say nothing when sincere students of magick may be mislead by someone. They will believe, because they don't know enough to see that they are misled, and it will either result in them trying to transform themselves into various things and expecting fire balls to form from their hands, or they will assume that is what magick is and become discouraged or disgusted in the practise altogether.

And as for the Golden Dawn, stick with Aleister Crowley's books and check out http://www.thelemapedia.org/index.php/Magick

I would not suggest getting involved with the actual Golden Dawn, it is a mere shadow of what it once was in the times of Crowley and you will be very disappointed. Better to read the "greats" of the Golden Dawn in its prime and continue your studies in Thelema on your own or with like minded people you call friends.
