I've been trailing the persian magi for the longest time. If anyone has some concrete information or book reccomendations on them, their whereabouts, their rituals, customs, what happened to them, etc etc... please do share it with me... feel free to mail me as well...

I believe what you are looking for runs along the lines of Zoroastrianism. I believe there are some somewhat modern sects of this religion, and its influence can be seen throughout western tradition.

That's true... The culture of the magi did play a huge role in founding zoroastrianism but with the end of the acheamenid and sassanian dynasties, a good 75 per cent of zoroastrian texts disappeared. They were either hidden or destroyed. Some say the magi did this to avoid its misuse others say it was done by the greek and muslim invaders. But there has to be more...
