I need to use a pink candle for a spell, but i don't have any and i'm also broke

is it okay to color over a different candle, make it pink, and use it instead?

White works for any color because it is made up of all colors.

If you mix all colours of paint together you will get black. However, all colours are contained in white "light". In that sense a white candle does contain all the colours "in the flame".The candle colour merely "helps" you to "visualise" what you are trying to achieve. But it is the flame itself that is important, not the colour of the candle.A white candle will "work" for all colours,if you believe it will!

It is important as an "aid". Certain colours are believed to have magical qualities. My witch teacher taught me that in the early years candles were only a form of lighting. But she did always have two candles on the altar (white ones) to represent the God and Goddess. It is all so much of what you believe.Coloured candles are a very modern part of Paganism. Very recent, in fact!

I don't think the "magic" is destroyed by using the same candles over again. It is a common belief that one should not blow out the candle, but snuff it out. I usually wet my fingers and "snuff" it out with my fingers. Purely because I do have a "sniffer".
