The Coven of the Agate Athame will Newly be teaching offensive magick. The coven will teach you how to defend yourself with your mind instead of cowering in the shadows when an opponet presents themselves.

Also the coven will teach the use of protective spells to render that same opponets mental attacks useless.

That sounds more like defensive magic. Offensive magic is attacking another with magic not defending one's self from it.

what level of understanding do these people who seek this type of magick have, because i think anyone who would want this type of magick would be novices and if they are advance, shouldn't they already know this.
i mean within three months i already learned how to fight back.

Albus, there are those who have dedicated themselves to only one form of magick for years. for example, When I first started out I considered myself Wiccan. I did only Fluffy Pagan magick for about two years. Then I found myself changing over time and began to realize I can do dark magick as well, Without Karmic repressions.

Offensive = attack, aggressive, to cause pain/suffering, etc.

Defensive = defend, protect, to prevent pain/suffering, etc.

Many martial arts are defensive arts meant to protect you from offensive people such as street thugs and other criminals, so even things that may seem offensive and can be used offensively may be considered defensive according to your intent. What you have mentioned here, judging by the intent mentioned, is defensive and not offensive. If you were to teach people to strike first and/or without mercy that would be more offensive. Learning to shield, block, deflect, etc, anything that keeps you from being harmed is defensive even if it sends the attack back to your attacker causing his desired effect to occur upon himself.
