I need answers

Long story short, a friends dog was stolen, weeks later, the dog reappeared in my friend's back yard. The dog was killed, organs taken out, skinned, and laid flat on the ground with arms and legs stretched out. The head was still attached and the leg bones weren't removed like everything else, almost like they do to bears. (bear rugs)
I dont recall my friends family doing something to deserve this, as much as i dont believe that this was someones sick revenge, im not out lining it as a possibility. I talked with my mother and i have a feeling that this act was something more sinister. Maybe a curse? a sacrifice? My friends father fell off a horse and hurt his back real bad and after that money had been someone tight but nothing to complain much about. But this incident occurred long after the dogs reappearance so im not sure if its connected, either way i felt like i should include this detail.
Can i have someones opinion on this?

To be honest it is the very first time I came across this type of sinister act personally, but I did heard of similar things before. I might be wrong of course but im pretty sure there is some sort of cult that does acts like this one putting curse on specific family. If that is true you should find someone who knows more about curses and see what kind of curse it is and how to deal with it.

I doubt this has anything to do with magic, occult practices, cults, or curses. It is, sad to say, a common 'ritual act' shown in movies and television shows. This give those with no idea about the arts the idea that those who practice the arts do such things. This is probably the act of some sick minded individual or group of individuals.

what type of dog was it? big dogs are targeted for dog fighting. it could of been someone who doesn't understand real witchcraft/satanism and did it for a ritual/spell but i doubt it. it could be someone who doesn't like the family [when i was a kid, someone shot my dog, and it was a person from the family we had a feud with for generations.] or another option could be some horrible person saw an opportunity to be horrible. [a neighbouring town years ago had someone beheading cats, leaving bodies on the owners door and the heads in a nearby park. just because he found it fun. and yes, that notion makes my skin crawl too] i really hope the family reported this to the police so they can press charges if someone is found [or a something to look out for]

magickally i would cleanse and protect the house, family, and property. if you think they've been cursed, you could also try casting a good fortune spell of some kind afterwards to help with a little extra luck [but the cleansing/protection should do away with the curse if any]

I have seen something similar to this before. It was a rabbit and they laid it out on my parent's front yard with the organs next to it. Turned out to be gang activity that had moved into my town from the nearby city. It was done just to make my parents afraid.

Could it have had some supernatural meaning, yes. But I agree with Neko that sometimes people can just be cruel. Do a cleansing on the house if you feel it necessary. I would also suggest, if your faith has some form of prayer in it, that you make a plea to the Divine that those who committed this action be awakened to the pain they have caused. I have found guilt can hurt someone more than any revenge spell.

I wish I never read this. I doubt it has anything to do with the arts.
