Hello I'm not sure what to make of this.

I was Scrying with a candle and after a bit the flame turned completely dark blue. What does this mean?

Nothing, except that you managed to reach a trance. By extent, succeeding in your scrying.

Did you have an intent, for scrying or scry for no reason?

Is blue connected to the entity in question?

Either way odds are this is their way of reaching out. Was it Hecate?

Hecate? As in the Greek Goddess of Magic? How can you scry in general?

Sorry for not getting to you sooner!

Anyway, I was getting a Greco-Roman vibe, so I figured it could be Hecate, since she is an incredibly popular goddess on both sides of the fence(meaning both RHP and LHP). Although, Hecate is a cross-pantheonal triple goddess, so there is way more complexity to her than being one of the most powerful and balanced goddesses of the Greek pantheon.

But yes, blue does make sense. If you couldn't pick up on any words, then that may be Athena's way of communicating to let you know she is there. Next time, have a pen and paper ready.

While in a trance, ''drop mind'' so to speak, in that you will try to quiet your own mind. Ask Athena the question out loud and write down the first thoughts that come into your mind. The sentences there. I would advise you learn to meditate, or perform other exercises for your focus so that you do not get distracted.

Once you have finished this, move onto the next question. Repeat this process, do not doubt yourself, write the first answer down, and check back after maybe twelve questions. You will see clearly that the answers aren't something your mind could've fabricated, simply because the diction, syntax, vocabulary, contents, or even just the FEELING of the words is definitely not yours.

So...congrats! Good luck with the silver-eyed goddess.
