Hello I'm Ivan from the Netherlands
Im 19 years old and studying IT here. My english is not so good but I hope that you can understand me.

Im very interessted in Magick and want to learn more about it. I'm trying to learn the meditation, visualization etc first.

I want to learn White magicks, such as healing, protection, communicate with good spirits, but also want to summon a Familiar to.

Any tips for me?

Welcome to the site.

Your englis is very good! I had no problems while reading your post.

It is good that you want to studying those basics first, most do not. They just jump into spell casting blindly.

You can search the forums for meditation, centering, grounding, energy manipulation and visualization. Or you can use the search bar in the upper right hand corner.

Also you can search the site for the type of magic you wish to learn. You can come into public chatter and ask around too.

There is a lot of information on this site that is very beneficial and some that is not so much. Keep in mind that over 70 percent of the spells on here do not work, but there are some that do. Once you study magic and have a good understanding of it, you can see which spells are logical and which are not.

Good luck to you!

Familiars are a hard topic to discuss since so many people have their own definition of what a familiar is and how to get one.

But from what I believe is that a familiar is a spirit that has taken a physical form. It is said that they usually find you or come to you instead of you finding them.

If you see a raven, for example, and then you dream about that raven in many dreams then the raven could be your familiar.

A familiar is an animal that makes itself known in your life in some way whether through dreams, meditation or a physical bond.

I hoped this helped. It is very difficult to explain familiars. But you can research that on here as well, and ask people about their familiars. But some on here do not use them or have them or just do not believe them.

Well, if you're serious about learning how to do magic and with starting from the rock-bottom then you don't start out by casting spells, you start out by learning how and why magic works.

You see, there is no such thing as an "easy" spell or a "beginner" spell. One either understands how magic works and has mastered the basics...in which case the magic will work..or you haven't done that sort of work..and no spell will work no matter how "easy" it seems.

Casting a successful spell involves much more than finding some spell on the internet or in a book, saying some words, lighting a candle, waving a wand of any of that sort of thing. In order for magic to work you need to understand how and why it works in the first place. Grounding and centering, visualization, focus and intent, energy manipulation, etc are all necessary first steps to even begin to have a chance at a spell actually working...and more importantly to prevent a spell from back-firing on you.

So, my advice for anyone who is truly serious is to start by reading a few books and practicing the exercises those books will give you. Once you have mastered the basics you won't need anyone to give you spells, you'll be able to create your own spells that will be far more effective than anything you find on the net. Here's the books I suggest:

"Before You Cast a Spell" by Carl McColman

"Spells and How They Work" by Janet and Stewart Farrar

"The Veil's Edge" by Willow Polson

"Modern Magick" by Donald Michael Kraig
