A Revenant Problem

Hey, everyone. There's been an etheric form that has been following my lover for a few years now. Although it never attacks her, and shows no intent of harm, I still feel disturbed by it. My aforementioned mate refuses to let me destroy or banish it, so what should I do, because putting a foot-thick ward around her bed every night seems inefficient thus far.

You should leave it be. It hasn't done anything that you should be cautious of. If it does do something negative, then get rid of it. But why would you get rid of it without a reason? That's not right.

What if it's a spirit that has set it's mind on protecting her from harm?

I agree with Neko, you should let it be unless it does something negative.
If you still are feeling disturbed by it though I would suggest trying to peacefully communicate with it. Try asking it why it follows her and see if you guys can reach an understanding.
If it hasn't done anything negative then I don't think a foot thick ward around her is really necessary.

It doesn't seem necessary to protect her from an entity that isn't threatening to her. And remember her wish to let it be is most important.

I have tried to communicate with it in every language I know, even just using images, and all that happens is that it blatantly ignores me. She has also tried to communicate, only to fall ill for a short period afterward.

Sounds like it just wants to observe and be left alone

Three years is a bit long to just observe, don't you think?

Even so, I'm sick of her living in fear, and me having to shoo the damned thing away on a daily basis.
