Ethics on Binding, etc...
By: / Beginner

Hi all,

I've always been intrigued by magick. I first started with "Instant Magick," then wanted to do more ritualized magick so I got into Wicca and have been eversince.

What I want to talk about is the ethics of binding and banishing magick. Because I hate to say, my first two experiences of ritual magick have been binding spells. Which I am yet to see results from (I tried one yesterday, one today).

So what are your views on this kind of magick?

banishing, when on a spirit, i feel bad. when it's on an abusive person or a stalker or someone like that, i see why it has to be done, and i have no problem with it.

binding on the other hand is like marriage, people rush into it without thinking beyond 'together forever' then a few months/years down the line they realize this is a really bad idea. myself i don't see why people have the need for such things, i've never done one personally, but that's because i don't want anyone or anything bound to me [exception maybe to the spirit of my first dog, but he hasn't followed me for years]

while magic doesn't have colour, i see both of those as more grey magic since you need to think, what may seem positive isn't really when you scratch the surface.

Interesting, I can see what you mean by not wanting anything bound you yourself.
