Preparing for Rituals
By:
This is a checklist of things to do before performing magical rituals at home. Many rituals can be done elsewhere, and indeed can be more effective outside. Some of the following will not apply depending on your location.

1. Ensure that you won't be disturbed during the spells. This may mean closing and locking a door; closing drapes, turning off the phone, or unplugging it and turning off the answering machine. Maybe even informing those you live with that you wish to not be disturbed. This ensures your concentration; you won't have to worry about someone interrupting you by walking in the room. If you must, practice the rituals late at night, after everyone else has gone to sleep.

2. Physically prepare for the rite. Take a bath or shower and dress in clean, preferably cotton clothing. Avoid wearing synthetics during natural magic.

3. Ensure that your need is a true need, and a practical one. Though you should have already done this prior to preparation for the ritual, it is never too late to decide to do some other ritual.

4. Breath deeply for a few moments before beginning. A short five to ten minute meditation can help clear your head, and begin to help you start concentrating on your goal or need.
