You'll never find a spell that will make you fly. Such things are impossible. If you're new, I suggest you not jump into spell work till you understand the fundamentals and basics of magick in general. I recommend you reading through the articles/forums and learning "the basics".

I have this inkling that you'll go against Personified's suggestion regardless of how useful the advice is.

In such a case I'd suggest you do indeed stick to something simple and useful. I wouldn't recommend you waste your time with a flying spell because you won't get far; I know how it is though, some people have to burn themselves a couple times before they truly believe someone when they say it's hot.

I would also recommend you stick to something with less chance of messy aftermath or undesirable circumstances.
The idea is to stay realistic, especially as a beginner. As with everything else you do, magic has circumstances and it's best to grasp that early on.

Whatever you choose to get into, decide before anything else that you are willing to deal with what you are responsible for. If you cause something using magic, be willing and ready to handle the consequences.

This being said, if I were you: curious, naive, perhaps excited, maybe even anxious...
I would look into some simple candle magic like a good luck spell or something along those lines.

In all honesty I rarely expect beginners to truly listen when they're told not to jump into spellcasting, so normally I offer some quick advice in the event you don't.

Be careful and keep a level head on your shoulders,
Ami ;)
