Be a witch but not Wiccan

Is it possible?

I practice magic, but I`m not a Wiccan. Is this possible, or is it a contradiction? The oddest part is, I`m a Catholic as well..(It`s different than Christian).

Of course I respect the rules of spellcasting, and I have read and done research before I got into magic, and I know it is punishable by my religion, but I cannot help but be drawn to it; and the spells I cast usually always work as well....so...

Being a Christian "Witch"...is it possible? If not, I have to do some more reading!

If anyone could enlighten me, it`d really be appreciated! I just don`t want to change my religion because I practice magic...and I ask you don`t condone me for it, please. Perhaps I might look into things more!

Ah, but knowing your Psalms is good for ritual magic and knowing magic circles! Hehe

You can be of Any religion to practice witchcraft.
Hey, freedom of religion, means ANY religion. c:

I myself don't have a religion and still practice witchcraft.

Remember, witchcraft is not a thing just for Wiccans and Pagans, it can be practiced by any person. No strings attached.

Not all Witches are Wiccan. Just as not all Pagans are Witches.
I myself practice Witchcraft as a religion, but there are those who practice it as a craft, with no religion involved.
There are many trads and branchings in Witchcraft and Wicca is only one of many.
And yes, you can be a christian Witch. There are quite a few of them out there.

I agree with what have been mentioned above .You do not need to be Wiccan to practice witchcraft .You may consider working with Angels and Archangels and get to know a bit more for Ceremonial magic for it uses God names and Archangels in some of its rituals .It also can teach you how to work with the different aspects of God and how to connect with the archangels .Also you can have a look on Kabbalah (Quabalah ) and its teachings for it also has to do with your religion to certain extend .There is nothing wrong to use Psalms also or prayers .I use all of those and i have no problem combining them ,however despite i have been baptised into Orhtodox Christian Church and i still respect this religion i use prayers mixed with another paths .Also you may want to look into Santeria for it also works with chatholic saints .Sometimes i pray too to Catholic saints such Saint Anthony of Padua ,so i do not see why that should be a problem .Give it a try if you feel uncomtable with those paths or with witchcraft you always can ask for forgivness and come back in your old ways of following to the letter what your religion requires .

you don't have to practice magic to be wiccan and you don't have to practice wicca to do magic.

magic is energy, you're casting a spell to shift the energy to help you with a problem. many religions have similar things, a big example is prayer, you could call it a chant, what you're doing is concintraiting and asking for something [bless this food, protect my mother, help my team win the big game] so you don't need to follow a pagan path to study magic, that's the best thing about magic, it's so open, it doesn't matter your belief so long as you know what you're doing.
