Hello everyone, actually i don't know what to say here, but i know what to ask... I never did magic and actually i'm atheist, i can't believe in those things... instead i see it by myself. I don't want to live as normal people out there, i want to join the magic world (if it really exists).
So anyone, please send me a easy ritual or something that can prove the existence of this whole thing, and than i would like to join all of this!
Thanks a lot, and i expect you guys understand me. I hope to became a great magician!

Hey there!

I'm Raven, I would be happy to tell you all about magic/magick!

What you may be expecting is the whole werewolves, mermaids, and fairies thing...Most people here call that 'fluffy magic' or 'hollywood magic'. I myself believe this is probably not possible and the odds are extremely against it. (I try not to use the word impossible).

HOWEVER- there are some things commonly practiced and not so frowned apon on this website such as psychics or psychic practices, candle magic, auras, curses, spells, tarot cards, spirits, etc.

Things you may require for practicing magic;

-A Book Of Shadows (Spell book)...(Sort Of)

-Dream journal

-Ritual ingreedients (Herbs, flowers, etc)

-Candles

-A wand (In some cases)

Things you can do:

-Preform rituals and spells

-Gather ingreedients (This can be pretty fun!)

-Write in your book of shadows and dream journal

-Give people psychic readings and test your psychic abilities

***And much more***

If you are really determined to look into 'fluffy' magic, I dont see any problems in researching the lore and things like that.

-Good Luck-

Well if by "world of magic" you mean a large presence of magic, the occult, and it's practitioners both irl and on the internet, then yeah, 100% that exists. But if you mean like a secret Harry Potter-esque doorway that leads to The Leaky Cauldron, then no, not so much.

And onto your question, if you really wanna start practising you can't just hop in and go around casting on Day 1, you need practice and knowledge of what you're doing to stay safe! So research! Learn the history, the correspondences, what path you're drawn to, it'll all start naturally coming to you when you start.

Good luck!

If you're serious about learning how to do magic and with starting from the rock-bottom then you don't start out by casting spells, you start out by learning how and why magic works.

You see, there is no such thing as an "easy" spell or a "beginner" spell. One either understands how magic works and has mastered the basics...in which case the magic will work..or you haven't done that sort of work..and no spell will work no matter how "easy" it seems.

Casting a successful spell involves much more than finding some spell on the internet or in a book, saying some words, lighting a candle, waving a wand of any of that sort of thing. In order for magic to work you need to understand how and why it works in the first place. Grounding and centering, visualization, focus and intent, energy manipulation, etc are all necessary first steps to even begin to have a chance at a spell actually working...and more importantly to prevent a spell from back-firing on you.

So, my advice for anyone who is truly serious is to start by reading a few books and practicing the exercises those books will give you. Once you have mastered the basics you won't need anyone to give you spells, you'll be able to create your own spells that will be far more effective than anything you find on the net. Here's the books I suggest:

"Before You Cast a Spell" by Carl McColman

"Spells and How They Work" by Janet and Stewart Farrar

"The Veil's Edge" by Willow Polson

"Modern Magick" by Donald Michael Kraig

And the following links in this thread will also help you learn the basic skills necessary for effective spellwork.

Bryceen, there are plenty of atheists practicing magic. There are many people who see it as a form of psychology. The famous psychologist, Carl Jung, is a major contributor to many occultists' studies.

There are those who believe, for example, that the 'demons' in the Solomonic tradition are all aspects of one's self, and the rituals are designed to isolate that aspect in such a way for the practitioner, and a thoroughly altered state, to interact with that portion of themselves.
