Parasitic obsessions

The media is quite useful for information purposes. But with the amount of fiction especially the movies and the popular genres of music people end up somewhat addicted. The danger of music is that it can be absorbed into the individual creating the state where the songs live inside of the head and you begin to worship the musicians (in most cases you imagine them to be bigger than they are). It works the same way with movies and the like. I always hate the idea of physical deities.

While this can be the case with extremism, perhaps reality is not quite so inclined that way? Fanatics can be found anywhere, sure, but I'd rather think of music as an experience and an expression - two mediums I find are true for magic as well. Certainly, music can fuel magic as well as express it, but in any case I've seen, it's less about the musician and more about the music.

I agree with what Evynne has stated.
I see music as being a form of expression of the self, and I find that it is something people can easily connect to on an emotional level due to the fact that humans are generally emotional beings or because the lyrics connect to some experience that they have had, but I've never seen anyone who has "worshipped" the musician.

Well music is a form of expression. True also that not everyone is addicted to music. And at the end of the day fanatics and worshipers do not share the exact same definition. I am the type that believes the two have a lot in common.

I think maybe a part of this would be that society puts celebrities, bands, musicians, (especially if popular) on such a high pedestal. In this case we tend to see them as less human, and more only for their talent and appearance.
I personally love music, and like to incorporate it into my craft as I create it myself and admire those who also create it.
What exactly do you mean by physical deities?

I'll attempt to answer your question. I intended to mean the popular musicians. I understand if you relate to the work or feel you have a lot in common with the artist and in a sense knowing their life outside of what the music preaches.
