Lucky penny

I want to make/bless a penny to make it lucky before i put it in a purse im giving someone, but i'm not sure of the best way to go about this. I've had a look through some of the luck spell on here, but they all seem to be for bringing luck to myself, or for making lucky amulets etc. Could someone please suggest a simple spell i could use on a penny before i give it to someone to make it lucky.

Thanks in advance

Let's see. I do not know what path you follow, or what God(s) Or Goddess(es) you follow, or what tradition or path of magic you follow.

What I would do is place the coin in your hands, and verbally pray over it. Asking for it to be charged with whatever energy you want. You can also say a prayer to your Higher Power, asking them to bless it.

For me, I like to give my coins that I will be offering up and using in workings a nice bath in some Holy water. If I have Florida water on hand I'll pour a touch of that on them as well to cleanse them. As I do that, I will pray over them a couple times, and ask that they be cleansed and blessed. That is just my way of blessing my coins.

Actually, it's a common belief that putting money of any kind in a wallet or purse before giving it to someone as a present is good luck in and of itself.

This is a hard one. the lore around money is vast and there are many things said to make a coin lucky or unlucky, from how it is found (heads up, heads down), year minted or blessed by someone of a faith. Writings on what is and isn't lucky could fill most libraries and are very much colloquial.

I would go with a good old solid copper coin not a new copper coated steel one. Copper in itself is a good metal to have around. After that it is hard to say 'luck' is a very individual thing, one persons luck is anothers curse. But anyone that has a friend that puts such thought into a gift is already 'lucky'.
