Spread Interpretation

Hello Everyone,

I was curious on your thoughts of this Tarot Reading I did for myself last night. It's left me a lot to think about and was hoping some more experienced readers and other's insights might give me a new perspective on the next stage of my journey.

5 Card Spread from Robin Wood Tarot box

The question. The interpretation of this card will help define the question. This card describes the events and the general situation that lead up to the question. This card shows how the seeker has tried to answer the question, or it may indicate the character strength or flaw that has the most bearing on the solution. Specifically this card may represent the influence of co-workers, friends, or family. This card represents the answer to the problem. The appropriate action to take is inherent in the interpretation of this card.

My reading: What is the next stage of my life's journey.

The 9 of Wands. The 8 of Wands. The Tower. The Page of Wands. The 8 of Cups.
Basically, I was curious about what I should be focusing on and what might be ahead. I hadn't done a reading on a month and just had the feeling I needed to do one after meditating on that same question. So, after a great deal of shuffling and reordering stacks, I pulled out those cards.

I looked at the 1st card and it seemed to fit. I've been pretty steadfast and contemplative in looking to improve magically/psychically so that I can make contact with my Higher Self to learn from. This has been going on over the last couple months.

The 2nd card gave me a pause for thought. I know it means an energetic journey, but looking at it further maybe it meant that working up to the present state of my journey I've been a bit into the wind, so-to-speak.

The 3rd card, The Tower, was a bit in your face in this reading. I wasn't expecting it. However, it makes sense, my foundations might be crumbling and falling to pieces. I know I've been looking into Kundalini Yoga lately and have tried awakening my chakras with seed sounds to help open up clairvoyance and clairaudience so that I can see and hear my guide and Higher Self.

The 4th card I took to mean that people here have been a energetic in offering support to help me.

The 5th card was a bit hard for me to figure out since I was hoping for something a bit more concrete, but it's still apt. It's similar to the 8 of Wands in that it's a journeying card. Though the part-moon seems to be more feminine, which is more intuitive I guess. Also the journey is by foot, which seems to mean more grounded.

Are there specific places for the cards to be placed at or do they get placed like you would for the past/present/future 3-card spread?

Sounds like you have your reading pretty figured out. I believe you had asked before about the 8 of cups and 8 of wands. For the 8 of wands I have always seen it to mean that things are rather speedy. So maybe your journey that brought you where you are today was a quick one. In what way I can't say. But the wand is an element of fire; not air - just to say. Wands deal with energy, strength, power. And 8 of cups (cups are water. They deal with emotions and feelings) I believe shows that you need a deeper level of insight to find the result of your answer. That it will take more thought and meditation to determine.

Ah. Thanks Vanity. I just have read that typically if you get 8 of Wands in a reading, for isntance when planning a vacation, it's good to travel by Air or stay away from it, depending on the orientation.

Yes, the spread layout has the 1st and 5th card on the same level, with the 2nd and 4th a little bit lower than them. The 3rd is closest to the reader/seeker because it's reflecting the present situation.

So:

_1______5_

__2___4___

____3_____

It's not as much of a triangle in the actual spread since it only goes down about half a card height in each group, but you get the idea.

Ah, thank you, Alva. I will have to try this one out some time. I'm honestly not sure where that comes from - the 8 of wands being associated with traveling my air. But I merely told my thoughts to it.

Your interpretation may be correct but it could also mean that you are being too hasty, findign yourself and gaining higher knowledge is a lifelong task. The tower may sigify that while you may be succesful at whatever it is you are doig it may be too much for your foundation and you may buckle under said pressure. While I am not saing that you should be slothfull, I am sugesting that while being steadfast and persistent is good, it is always key to take your time and apriciate all the new information and prwess is good. While running quickly will get you to your goal faster, it may take you over the cliff, you loose sight of your goal the colapse from fatigue. But either way I think you did a dandy interpretation, and take into consideration both sides of the proverbial coin. I hope you find what you are looking for and as a post script that was a rather pesimistic interpretation on my part.
