Ays: Wind Demon

Armenian mythology speaks of a wind demon called Ays, who can enter a body through the wind. Usually appears as mists and what not, that's all I know of this demon.

Does anyone know about the necklace that can be used for protection? Probably some type of celtic knot, also there maybe an incantation for the protection? Does anyone know more than this?

Maybe any idea about what it's made out of? Or any information beyond this about Ays?

Seems like a hard one to research.

The only other thing I found on it is that it comes through open windows generally, it stays away from sacred ground and fire, and it is extremely rare. If it does possess someone, there is precise ritual that is carefully done to attempt to exorcise the demon. And in most cases, the victim goes insane.

It is a "Dev" which is basically godlike aka an immortal spirit. You're best bet is looking into Devs and not Ays directly. Here is something interesting I found on Devs and other Armenian mythological beings.

Cool, thanks a ton. I can see why they used to do those bonfire rituals... There was something they threw in, well one of them threw into the fire though. I didn't think of looking into devs as a whole, thanks a lot. Probably should've added that and thought of it myself! Will check it out and get back to you.

Well, that can explain some of the things my best friend found. Like the red man. That was an interesting read, I'll definitely keep it in mind. If anyone else has anything, feel free to pipe up.
