How to make your own Book of Shadows

Find a blank Notebook, I purchased a blank journal with a great black leather cover. I wanted to chose one that i can pass down to my children and children's children.
I know that some use a 3 ring binder so its easier to rearrange your pages because it is an ongoing process. Also you can buy protective sheets for your pages to prevent any damage such as , water, candle wax, oils and so on.
I also added sticky tabs and labeled them for quick look up: Just some...
( spells )
( candles and there color meanings)
( Teas )
( herbs and plants / medicinal )
(Sachets / certain spell sachets)
( artwork , creative time )
and so on.......
It is more personal when you hand write in your book. My book is Titled " Leah's Book Of Shadows", (simple). I also added the date. Get your artistic skills going, remember this is (your book) Do whatever you like!
you can incorporate the laws of your coven if you like, but it isn't necessary, again this is your Book! Do what you want to do.
This book will be used as your guide, take good care of your Book of Shadows. It is a sacred Book and should be treated with love and respect.

Now you can collect and incorporate your own information, It’s easier to keep spells organized if you divide them up by purpose: Love, protection, healing, and so on... Keeping it organized is very hard to do. Some people choose to use a simple bound notebook, and just add to the back of it as they discover new items.
your book doesn't have to be perfect, this is your book and is for you only. Don't be afraid to add and do what you want, I know allot of people want to make sure they are following rules, but there are no rules when it comes to putting together your book, so be at ease have fun and Enjoy your Creation :)

If you have anything to add , please chime in.
This maybe the lazy version of how to create a BOS.

I think typing things in word and printing them out for your BoS can be personal. Some people are really into decorating and making things with word and other artwork stuff on the computer. I think this is a good post. Thank you for sharing, ManEater. :)

thank you, even know this is short and sweet and to the point it still took awhile to type up.

I wrote this to help others not for me, it gives me a sense of gratitude to share with others :)

I think every BOS should have the protection rite of that individual BOS at the beginning, it makes it easier to find if time needs.

In mine I included Dreams & Divination as well as Rituals and Ceremonies.

I love this post. Creating a BoS can be a very fun thing to do. Personally, for me Im using a few notebooks, highlighting some info in books that ive used and have helped me, and writing down other info that could help me in the future and other people who may inherit my BoS and im writing it all on computer paper and such and then after about 10 years of practicing and learning the major things i need to learn, at that time ill purchase a nice leatherbound book and compile everything into it to create my BoS. Ive been practicing for about 2 years now and i dont feel its necesarry for me to have a confirmed BoS considering ill be learning soo much more. But thats the fun part again, doing what you feel youd like to do. its so personal, i love it lol
