Ale and Cake Substitutes?

I just wanted to ask, is their something appropriate you can use as a replacement for Ale or Wine during rituals? I prefer not to drink alcohol even if it is just a sip but I don't seem to know any substitutes that can be appropriate. Also what kind of cakes or food as acceptable? Is is simply a basic cake or does anyone know of any recipes that can be use to make cakes for rituals. If anyone has any recipes or knows of any acceptable foods/drinks for ritual please give me some ideas. Thank you everyone.

I've read before that biscuits/cookies and fruit juice can be used in place of alcohol and cakes (being that they're still associated - wine comes from fermented fruits and traditional cakes don't look the same as modern cakes do).

Honestly I just use water if I don't have wine, if you are doing a eucharistic rite i.e. energy is being called down into the food and drink, water works just fine as does any food. One could even use bread or indeed anything.

The same goes for wine in general, most rituals call for red and I can't stand the taste. My spirits don't seem to care that I only like Pinot Grigio and can only afford a cheap brand!

Cookies, bread, or any other form of baked goods can easily be substituted for cakes in ritual.

In the coven I ran we always had some sort of fruit juice in the cup for those who either couldn't or chose not to drink alcohol. But I see no problem in using water, soda, or anything else if you prefer.

When I'm doing a solitary circle I use juice [apple juice normally, though I have used kool-ade before, I feel using real fruit juice is better because it's more natural than sugar and food colouring, it you could use whatever] and a cookie or cake [or whatever I baked] sometimes depending on the season I've used fruit or nuts. Pick something you enjoy and wish to share.
