The honey/sugar jar is part of folk magic practice that has nothing to do with casting circles.

But since it can be applied to any practice, it would really come down to what you feel comfortable with. Though I can't imagine why you'd need to protect yourself for a sweetening jar.

you do not have to cast a circle but since you are burning candles for your job you may want to as part of your candle magick.

Make a circle if you feel it empowers you. It is not a part of hoodoo tradition but cleansing and banishing rituals are for any type of work. I would think a hoodoo practitioner would advise to cleanse your house and at least your sacred place prior to any job being done (washing areas with salt water and the like)

Ive started using the lbrp and the girh for any candle work I use and it feels great. This is based off of some really good advice I received from someone more knowledgable than myself.

Good luck and much success for your work!

Hoodoo practitioners each do it differently. Some bathe themselves before working, some wash the floors, others don't bother. It depends on the work.

Since you have mentioned that you pray to God, I'm going to assume you are or at least mean to be Christian. Honey jars are more frequently found in a practice called Hoodoo/Conjure...which is Christian Folk Magic.

I'd suggest reading up on it as it might tie in more closely with your religious beliefs.

Thank you for sharing thor. Every morning i put on a pot with a pinch of salt for banishing, sage for protection, and rosemary for awareness and let all the water boil out, filling every corner of my house with the steamy aroma. I have a spray bottle that i filter the potion into when it is empty that i use to cleanse my area after i have worked by spraying in the corners, widershins or counterclockwise for banishing and around the windows and doors, deosil or clockwise, for protection. ~blessed be~

I love that idea of the steam and the spray bottle. Why cant I ever come up with such easy solutions?

That is an excellent way to keep positive energy flowing and make ones living area and sacred place very pleasant!

well i am not christian, i belong to indian culture, as far as praying to God means, i believe God is one for all, just that we have name it.
i started my jar yesterday, till now no signs, i'll keep working on it.
one question, can i carry my jar with me all the time, as i fear of leaving it at home. if i can't i'll keep it at home hidden somewhere.
