Buying first Tarot Deck
By:
It is almost yule and i am going to get myself a tarot deck to celebrate and to further explore my path, but i am not sure what deck to get or what spreads to use. i slept over my friends house and she did a few readings and let me flip through her deck. the goddess deck i think she called it, she also used the Celtic spread, any ideas on what deck i should buy? i am a Wiccan and my element is earth.
anything helps, thanks!

My advice is to use the deck and spread that you like the most. Pick one that makes the most sense to you.

In my beliefs it is sometimes ideal to not buy yourelf a tarot deck but given one. But this is an old tradition not many follow anymore

Buy a deck that you feel connected with so take your time and keep browsing. Don't rush things. As for spreads I would recommend you a one card reading for that will be the card of the day. For more information on tarot cards go to this website.

Yes, you should buy the tarot deck which you feel most connected to, I find it as a very good advice.

All what people above mentioned i found very valid and very good as advice .You should pretty much feel a sort of 'relation' towardthe particular deck you have been attempting tochoose.
You should feel familiar with the aspects it has to represent,or to be related with the path you have chosen specifically.
Whenweperform divination which is a broad magic practice,we should use some tools to help us to tap into our subconscious . Hence, it ishighly recommended thatthese toolswill be related to this so the connection can be strengthened up and thus bring about better results.
What i specificallyrecommend is to have a look in this site http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/.
( I have seen this site randomly while surfing in the internet looking for interesting tarot sites)
The provides you interesting lists of varioustarot decks ,you can even viewthe deck reviewsor some descriptions about the values it serves. This site got me to find few decks that i really liked in the end.I strongly recommend you to have a look on the various decks and see which one attracts you the most ,since it is very important when it comes to your thoughts and feelings .If you tend tolike something ,you can follow what you feel and purchase it. You may ask for opinions and experiences here from your fellow practitioners.
There are some classical decks, however you should go with whatever you feel. You can also try different decks and see : you will have many of those while being in your magical path.

My best choice is rider Waite tarot deck
It was my first tarot deck and the only deck I have, I've had them for 2 years now and I'm so in love with them that I refuse to buy any other deck!
It was the original and classic tarot cards from the 70's
I wouldn't buy any other deck but rider waite, but that's just my opinion
Blessed be!

I just got a new deck they had only 4 choices 2 i could only afford.1 i already have, but the 2 i had the money for they are the same, but different designs so i held both of them. The one i was drawn to was the esoterico which i dont know what that word is but the picture which later found out was the picture of the devil. Does that mean anything?

@death2death
Esoterico is a spanish word for occult and secret. As for the picture of the devil in my opinion could mean nothing but if you want to interpret it then it could mean addiction, obsession, greedy, selfish and etc. Now that's how I interpret the devil for other people it could mean something else. In short, it really depends on how you view it.
