potions is like tea. but only that you can consume. you can always just combine herbs with the same correspondences to make it stronger.

~Traditional Curing Potion~

If you can get your hands on some maple tree bark, mix it with boiling water. After doing so, ask if you could have something of a healthy person and drop it in(MAKE SURE EDIBLE, AND NOT TOUCHED MUCH). Cool down, and boil AGAIN. Serve while hot.

actually any liquid is considered a potion [directed at post number 3, not you zaza1]

i'm a potion user also, and i have two books that are very good in my opinion

~Magick Potions: how to prepare and use homemade oils, aphrodisiacs, brews and much more by Gerina Dunwich
~Oils, Incense and Brews by Scott Cunningham

the first one is more historical, the second one is more making and using. it's rather hard to find, in my opinion, books on the subject. potions work better for me as well, but i believe its because since i'm using herbs, i know they have healing [or whatever] properties, so they will work. let me know if you would like any help.

It's worth pointing out that not all "potions" are imbibed, either. Many are used topically, used to anoint objects within ritual magic, and so forth.

You'll find tinctures, distillations, blends, oils, essences, elixirs, etc. They're all potions. Potions is a vague word made popular by science fiction.
