my cat enters my circle

When I do rituals and circle castings, I do this in the guest room but this room is also the room where my cat stays and walks around (downstairs we have a dog and they don't go along). When I do the rituals with the door closed, she comes at the door and continues mewing...so I need to open the door because otherwise she distracts me too much.
I really like having my cat around me and I love her company but now I wonder if it is a bad thing for my magic? She is also black by the way lol. I don't see any other place where I am able to perform my magic...What consequenses does her presence have? Do you think it is a bad thing she keeps walking in and out the circle? What is your opinion/thought on this? Also what do you think about open doors and windows when performing rituals?

Have you tried putting a box in the room when you do your rituals?

well cats like boxes and i assume your cat would rather sit in the box and hopefully stop running over your circles

Haha nice idea but this one doesn't like boxes at all, she likes to have like an overview of everything around her. She for example actually likes to sit on the top of the chair, not on the chair, but on the top where normally your back is leaning against on lol. And when I'm for example sitting calm and meditating she sometimes comes walking towards me, like saying hi, rubbing her head against me and then walk away...and then she goes sit in front of the window for example...she just likes to hang around.

Also beware of having anything living when you do magic. It may affect your cat, like attach itself to it, or possess it, etc.

Animals wont affect your sacred space in your circle. They can go in and out freely without causing an issue. In fact, she could even be adding extra energy to your workings! In recent years, it has become popular for witches to take on a pet as a familiar. A familiar is a pet in which you have a special bond that aids in your magickal workings or gives you magickal inspiration. Therefore, the only possible issue that you could have is if you don't like that cat and find her presence annoying and lose focus. Otherwise, enjoy the magickal friend.

@ Iris neat! didn't know that. still going to lock my cat in the bathroom however since he's crazy [he's eaten offerings on my altar when my back was turned.] but it's still interesting to know.

certain animals can sense energy and respond well to it [one of my favourite authors says only one of her cats respects the circle and will walk around it. the others are confined to the bedroom] i did a type of funeral for my friends cat once, there was a stray that wandered in and decided to stay lol, didn't really feel much negative effect when that happened. i've also read about witches who have trained their pets to assist in ceremonies [like a dog who was part of a handfasting] or to sit and stay during meditation sessions. do what you feel is best, personally if your cat is the calm quiet type it shouldn't hurt [if like me however you've got a ginger that enjoys random parkour out of boredom, you might not want it anywhere near your circle]

regarding open windows i always have the windows open, my circles get really hot due to the energy so the slight breeze helps [plus when it suddenly gets cold we know someone broke the circle lol] doors i'm guess would be the same thing [outside of bedroom doors though i've never tried.] the only time i have all doors and windows open is when i'm doing a house cleansing so any negativity being forced out has an exit [not sure if that actually helps, just a habit lol]
