Hello New and overwhelmed

Hi everyone, Ive always been interested in wicca and true magic as far back as I can remember. I'm in my 30s now, and i feel a pull in this direction. I cant really explain it. I come from an Irish and Indian background, my Grandfather was full blooded Cherokee, so I have have always been exposed to little things here and there, but as a child, my mother forbid any kind of "hocus Pocus" as she would call it. Recently my brother in law passed away, and since then, I have have an indescribable urge to learn the craft and begin practicing, BUT... I have SO MANY QUESTIONS. I know you guys say read and learn, but what do I read? Is there anything in particular I should start with? any other websites that may help me gain insight as to what to do? for some reason , I am drawn to crysyals/gems, and herbs more than anything. My intuition is at an all time high lately, and its never wrong. also Ive been told by a couple of friends from the Pagan community that I am an Empath, which makes sense, considering I can hardly go into public places any more without almost having a nervous breakdown. It completely drains me sometimes to the point I dont leave the house or speak to anyone for a couple of days so that I can recharge. i just want to make sense of it all. any advice anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated and not taken for granted. thank you for taking the time to read this. Blessed Be

First of all, slow down. It's overwhelming to try and learn everything at once, so just take baby steps. Here, one of the best places to start is the General Info section in the forums. Read the threads that are pinned (the have a thumb tack next to them).

Reading a research is where you are right now, and it's where you will be for a while. Just take your time, read, cross reference, ask questions. Many people here are willing to answer question on the forums, in the chatter, and on private mail. You won't be spoon fed information, but feel free to ask questions.

I hope you find what you are looking for!

I found True Magick to be the worst book I ever read on Magick
I know it was directed to those who are Wiccans so at first I thought that was the reason then I read other Magick books by Wiccans that were Great..learning Mafick is an overwhelming thing.because it's so different then most of us think it will be going in and starting out. First Take your time, don't worry about paths or belief systems right away just gather information, get for or five different books and read them over and over, study them and take notes...Learn a Divination Like Tarot, practice Clearing your mind building will and focus.. Google, interact, watch videos
And little by little it will make sense. Then start to practice slowly, cast Circles,Cast Tarot, learn banishings how to ground energies etc..It will make sense over time.
