The only "energy" used for potions is the energy needed to gather and mix! As for saying that magic should not be mixed with science; well, the original meaning of the word Science is "knowledge". And magic is surely that!
Hexes? They are "beliefs"; magic is real!
In England, before the Romans came, we were not even called "witches". We were called "the elders" or "the wise ones"; not only healers, but counsellors, giving advice on the problems of life. It was the Christians who started calling us "witches".

Potions are any wet form of magic, even blessed water is a simple potion. Tea is the most commonly understood potion. Plant material is soaked in hot water to extract the plants essences and nutrients. One can also infuse their own thoughts and energies into the potion through stirring. Think of the spoon as a wand.

With all that being said, does anyone have any helpful links on kitchen witchery? I have tried doing some research on here, but I haven't found anything informative. Also, from what I have got from this thread, my best place to start would be studying herbalism and healing subjects?

A kitchen witch is one that incorporates magical workings into the activities associated with the kitchen. This includes but is not limited to cooking, baking, and cleaning. Through the use of herbs, essential oils, common kitchen supplies such as; salt, baking soda, vinegar, etc and other magical tools which are often kitchen utensils, a kitchen witch imbibes their daily activities with magical energy. One may "stir in their love" as they mix ingredients, chant while a tea is steeping, as well as cleanse and banish negativity as they clean the home.
