symbol help

i want to knw about certain symbols, ive been hearing a lot about them maybe someone can tell me some symbols and different ways to use them. Any help will be appreciated

... And the symbol is what exactly? You might want to provide a description or link to a photo of this symbol. There are thousands of symbols out there. Some are common runes, others could be store logos, and some are personal to the caster.

the pentagram would the first one....

One of the oldest symbols is the Pentagram. And that has so many different interpretations that you could get a "scrambled" brain!
But, to ask about symbols in general; there are thousands of them!

It depends on the path but most view it as a protection symbol and a representation of the five main elements. Starting at the top and going clockwise top point is spirit, second is air, bottom right is fire, bottom left water, then earth and back to spirit. Of course some view things like metal, wood, and chaos as elements, but those are the most commonplace.

Also note the pentacle and pentagram are different. One has a circle, the other does not.

The pentacle has been used as a symbol for thousands of years and in various religions. In early Christianity the pentacle represented the five wounds of Christ and the crown of thorns.

In modern Wicca it represents the five Elements of Air, Fire, Water, Earth and Spirit all held within the circle of creation.
