Nightmare room gone wrong

Everyone has a room in there mind that holds their deepest darkest fears in their mind, mine changes to who ever is present and I locked it away so it could't effect me. I also have secrets to hide from my self and intruders. I combined these two factors into one room, but there was a problem, the guardians I set got out of hand and started consuming the souls of the intruders and I didn't know this because I had it locked away so well. I nearly died energy wise along with a companion to guide me because I am blind to energy. When I got free I searched for a reason why it got aggressive to its maker. I found, what I describe as a black soul gem the size of a big computer desk.

I got rid of it properly and got ride of the room of secrets too, it was too dangerous. So here's my question: how could creatures who protect my secrets and use my special nightmare room tactics turn like this and nearly kill their creator. The 'programming' was simple and specific. any opinion?

Note: I don't intend to have any soul related damage ever happen.

I'm going to ignore the description in most of your post, because I'm not sure where you accumulated your information or perspective, but it needs a lot of readjusting. I'm not going to criticize you, I'm just going to say that much.

Since this all is in your mind, it is not less real but it is entirely you--manifestations of your ideas, thoughts, beliefs, and emotions on a conscious and subconscious level. So you must understand that you are in 100% control of this place and what occurs there and no one else has access to it.

Any "guardian" is a thoughtform or also known as a servitor that you create to perform a certain action. However energy, when given the belief of containing a "mind" and especially when believed to have emotions, will begin to react and think much like their creator. Therefore they will react to what they interact with and their environment and they will change.

If you look into golems, those who make such things will create a safety destruction method so that WHEN not IF their energy creation has gone out of control, they can destroy it by destroying an object they based the thoughtform on/linked to it upon creation. Those who use servitors never keep the same servitor for long and will usually destroy and create a new identical one a week or month later (depending on past experience as to how long it takes for them to start gaining their own sense of self).

Thoughtforms can get very creepy when left to their own devices. We are human not divinity and therefore cannot create perfect thinking energy. It will begin to corrupt and twist and turn into something quite ugly if not kept close watch over and destroyed/recreated every so often. Casted magick does not do this because it is not thought to have its own mind. We either control it or have spirits/deities govern it's direction.

Basically since it has no soul, it has nothing to keep it balanced like we do. It has no foundation of experience and memories. Therefore it is a newborn babe that can have temper tantrums and is pretty much "wild" once we leave it to its own devices. It will obey its orders until it gets strong enough to break free and rebel (kind of like a teenager! Lol). No amount of time spent on it will ever allow it to be perfect, because we are not capable of creating perfect life. Basically never let it get to adolescense. =)

The source of my info is from personal experiences and lack of book knowledge on how to word it.

by creating a separate area of exsistense it makes a safety area and by ignoring it, it will work independently with AI of sorts. I don't want to interfere with guards of secrets, less I find out what I hid from my self. I'm wondering about what would cause this turn

it sounds to me like a bad acid trip or something lol just kidding i dont know about a nightmare room it sounds like fluff to me but i suppose the human mind is capable of creating such a thing but as for thought form creation i agree with raven you need to put some sort of self destruct mechanism into the creation like i give all mine expiration dates while i create them i add and you will cease to exist mm/dd/yyyy i usually make it exactly 1 year from the day of creation i suggest something along these lines

when I made them, I didn't think of that, that was years ago. and the nightmare room isn't fluff, in my research and asking around, everyone I ran into had a nightmare room of sorts where people stored there nightmares. different ways of storing but still a room of sorts. the mind is a representation of the person, I am a everything has it's separate place. so that's probably why I have one.
again, I apologetise that I am bad at wording and have no book knowledge so I can word right. I am not a fluffy or a role-player, just a person with strange wording and weird experiences that I relate wording to things I've seen on TV/books/games to try and describe them lol
