Probablity and Miracles

O.k., I personally have been browsing through the spells recently, looking for random stuff.

I did notice two types of spells, or my own personal category of spells.

Probability Altering - Luck Spells, Things dealing with altering the state of real life situations. Emotion, etc.

Miracles - Summoning, transformation?, etc.

However, I have to say that I question quite a few of these spells, like, I will say this, wait for insult, THE MERMAID SPELLS, which seem to gain alot of people saying, OMG, my legs are itchy, it must be working. If somehow, a miracle happened and it worked, I would be surprised, but maybe it doesn't work, so I question why taking out my time. Karma or equality or balance or whatever you believe may pay me back for the trip, but then again, it's still time.

So, here is my crazy proposal for spells.

1. Classify them as either A or B (See above)
2. Allow a rating system with members.
3. Allow people to give a star rating, and write a review.
4. HOWEVER, TO WRITE A REVIEW, ONE MUST MAKE A NOTICE EITHER 2 WEEKS IN ADVANCED THAT THEY WISH TO DESCRIBE THEIR EXPERIENCE or give a star rating. THIS DISCOURAGES MIRACLE SITUATIONS WHERE YOU ARE SENSING SMALL DETAILS LIKE YOUR HEAD IS ITCHY AND FEEL YOU ARE GROWING HORNS.
5. If a spell gains a low ranking, under 3 stars, a submit evidence box will become available, so take a photo or submit a video that shows the miracle happening. This will increase the spell ranking to 5 stars, and give a IT WORKS status.
6. Members who write alot of reviews get honorary member status, and if they gain that, they can submit reviews faster.

Well, that's that, I tried, PLEASE INSULT IF YOU ACTUALLY READ EVERYTHING AND CAN MAKE A INTERESTING POINT.

Few issues with your idea here...

To start with, your classifications are simply that. YOUR classifications. I do not consider summoning a miracle, ( nor do many members I'm sure ). If we are going to use catagories, there are a slew of other ones to use.

There is a rating system currently in place. Adding to it by allowing reviews is only going to make for more clean up by the Mod's as people can't always behave themselves. Trolls frequent the forums so if we allow that it's only going to get messy.

Evidence review box? How exactly does one prove they summoned their respective diety ( since they tend not to come in physical form ), or APed, or even prove they sucessfully cast a money spell?
People tend to ask for "proof" when claims of transformations take place because 1. there is never going to be proof and 2. it would be the only magickal occurance that would be visable by the naked eye.

We have a rating system, we even have a "mark as spam" option to help remove spells. A bit of common sense on the practitoners side of things can make spell searching much easier.

Well, let's start to look through this, I am going on memory, so I may leave out important points.

1. People have opinions. I just picked names based on the moment, I am sorry if I have offended you.

2. In the second paragraph, I consider a money spell a relation to probability, not miracle. Money is a physical good, and thus to want it, gain it, has an effect on probability. To make a ton of money appear in front of you is a miracle.

3. Proof, well, there is a few flaws, I will admit, it was just an idea, this is all an attempt to rid the site of the mermaid spells, so I can actually read something worthwhile without the clutter. However, I have to say that if one summon reveals itself, then just have the person confirm that all these other summons work. Then maybe we could work it to get them confirmed status.

4. The clutter is getting better because of the rating system.

5. And finally, TROLLS ARE LAZY. The two to four week notification that you want to rate something, and then remembering to do it on the predetermined date, at least shows enough dedication that they want to destroy something, and why not, because it didn't work for them. And if it worked for you, counter it, give it a 5 star, balance the system.
