I've ordered books to read in order to better myself and my magic before I attempt to cast a spell. Does anyone know if this the right way to go about getting started.

It can't hurt. Personally I think it is good that you are trying to learn before just jumping in to do magic. Kuddos!

To get started I would say go into the forums and take a good look at meditation, grounding, etc. If you don't start with the basics you will have problems when casting, especially if you don't know how to ground before a ritual.

Thank you I intend to learn how to meditate and ground myself prior to casting a spell.
