Candles?

Hey, so I am currently wanting to get back into Wicca. However I am at college and 'technically' I am not allowed to have candles in my room. Can I get by without the use of candles?

Absolutely. If you still want a substitute (it's not necessary, however), there are many options.

There are color correspondences, stones which may represent the same thing(s) you were using the candles for, and so-on.

Yes, you can use other things besides candles, such as electric candles, but they aren't as nice. If you go to a public college, you could petition the administration to set aside a room for Wiccans to use as a chapel since they won't let you practice in your dorm room. If the school has places of worship for other religions, and it is a government owned college, then under the first amendment they also have to provide a place of worship for Wiccans. It could even be an outdoor area or courtyard. Try to find other like minded people at your school to coordinate things with.

it's fine, you can substitute candles on your altar for the deities with statues or images of the God and Goddess. i stopped using candles when casting the circle, you could use any number of items, so long as you know where the four corners are. spells, for the time being, don't do candle magick, if if you need to, i know many people are now using battery operated candles.

Their are a lot of techniques that are used in wicca that do not associate it self with candles. So you are good :)
