Apples and Samhain

I'm thinking about leaving an apple out tonight because I read that it's a good food to offer spirits, should I just leave it there until morning because I read you bury it the next day if it's stilk there, is that correct?

What about you?You feel that this is good?

I really hate when I hear something like "how I must leave an offering?".The leave of offeings is not a craft.

And now,I know that exist some traditions about when is better to leave offerings but try to think.Even if you leave the offerings at midnight or at breakfast the spirits will apreciate.

You can leave an offering to a spirit or more in every day,not only on a holiday.

Important:If you give an apple as an offering, you must be sure that nobody will eat it.An offering is only for the entity which you give.

I would give incense personally unless you know the spirit. Apple's are used on Samhain, mostly for divination and games [sometimes both. Bobbing for apples use to foretell who found love in the coming year] do what you feel is best. I'm not sure if offerings being eaten by others is a bad thing, I always place the cake and ale for the God and Goddess outside, and I'm pretty sure animals have nibbled on them.
