Newbie ready to learn!

Hello community! I am reaching out for some help or guidance. I am rather new to the wiccan world and I am learning as much as I can, but would like a mentor or just some words of advice to aid me on my journey.

Well, first, Wicca is a religion, and you don't need to be Wiccan to practice magick. People use the k on magick to show we are not talking about stage magic. Ok, now onto your education. lol

Go to forums, then General Info. Read Basics Expanded and Starting Out. These are good starters for the beginner starting in learning about magick. Feel free to mail me with questions, but only after reading these. Good luck and Blessed Be...

You might want to start out with the following information on this site:

I've been practicing Wicca for 30 years. I don't take on-line students; however, I am always ready to answer specific questions or point you at good resources to help you out.

Study and practice. There are many books on the subject, but be careful what book you get. There's lists of books throughout the Wicca forums that can get you started.

By practice, I don't mean cast a spell every day, but you should do something daily to connect with your faith. Wicca is life, so on days where a long meditation session or circle isn't possible, just take a walk in the park and be open to your surroundings. The divine is everywhere in everyone and everything. Take some time every day to reflect on this. Prayer is another option, when you wake up, or go to bed, say a little thank you to the God and Goddess. You can do more but that's the bare minimum.

Few people I know teach, or even had a teacher [outside of books and the forums] I had some pagan friends growing up [some newly converted others went back generations] we learned from each other when we got stuck, but we didn't have some 'master' who taught us. We would borrow books from each other and get together for holidays but the bulk of our journey was alone. Personally I feel its better like that.
