Witch Hunters

I have heard about witch hunters. What is true and what isn't? Also I have a question regarding whether you should tell people you are a witch, or not tell anyone at all or only people that you really trust.?

it depends what country you are in. some countries like KSA, oman or yemen; yea you can get into a lot of trouble for practicing witchcraft

but I get the feeling you might mean something fictive like in movies or tv? I dunno

I live in a small rural town in the Vatican northwest. I don't tell anyone about my practices. its just better all around for everyone.

Witch hunters are largely dead and buried now. As mentioned above there are some countries that still take issue with witch craft but I can't say I've heard of any "witch hunts" in any of them. The only thing in history that could really be called witch hunters were various people that would travel around villages and towns to supposedly uncover a witch in the local area, commonly for a fee. However this was in the days where it was believed that witches worked for the devil and had unnatural powers to survive drowning or to fly etc. Basically there's no reason to fear a witch hunter coming around to gun you down in the street or anything like that.

In regards to telling people you're a witch that's entirely up to you. Some people keep it a secret, others tell close friends and a some celebrate their faith all over the internet for everyone to see. You only need tell the people you want to and it largely depends on your current situation and how comfortable you are with people knowing.

Like thor said it depends where you are... but as for witch hunters I have no idea what you mean I myself never heard of them. And the question regarding wheather you should tell anybody? I would suggest not and keep it to yourself but if you do want to tell I suggest you go with family members or trusted ones.

You probably is talking about the "inquisition". The hunt ordered by the church. Yeah, this is in the story and you can read about in library or internet, etc. I will not talk much about this (but I really believe about what I read in the books) because I was not in there, but there is a lot of facts, an example is about the templars burned because of their rites and secret society.

Today in some countries, you can be killed if you are xtian or satanist, wiccan, whetever you are (opposed to other system). I would not say what is real or fake because I was not in there or in that era, and we know that exists a lot of fake versions about everything made by people with much power over countries / peoples. But check some wiki" for more information.

I'm not sure about the first question. But, telling people you are a witch is serious. You could lose friends, family, or people who mean a lot to you. There is a lot people a out witches that is not true like that all Witches worship the big guy down under the ground with horns and if you try to tell them no, you don't believe in the devil they will tell you that not worshiping God is worshiping the devil. Of course you might find out that people you know are more open-minded with that kind of stuff. My friend is Catholic and she knows I'm Wiccan and she doesn't have a problem with it at all. Now keep in mind I don't tell her everything about Wicca, just the stuff I think she can handle. I don't tell her about psychics, empaths, or mediums. But if it's ok to give you some unsolicited advice, I have a test to kind of figure out who to tell that I know and care about and it seems to work pretty well if you would ever like to use it. Keep in mind, I walk with my neighbors a lot so I see them on a regular basis and get to know them. They'll bring up church and I'll say, "I don't go to church" if they're fine with it you just continue on your walk or whatever and as you get to know them you throw in things like, having friends of other religions. Always name the ones common but not what normal people would consider way out there. You could say you have a friend who is Muslim(or something like that. I really do have a friend who's Muslim and she's really nice, but I never mention names to my neighbors)

" If they say that's wrong and it's against God" then don't tell them about being a witch, it will only lead to heart ache. If they say something like, "that's cool it really sound interesting" or don't seem bothered with it the next time you see them you could say something like, you have a friend who's athiest(which to most people where I live is extremely out there) but make sure to space it out enough to where they don't get suspicious. If they take that really well you can always say next time you see them that you have a friend who's gotten into this religion(describe whatever your religion is if you have one) or just explain it in a very logical and acceptable way. If they fail any of these steps then you need to backtrack and not say anything else because they probably won't accept it. Although people may be more accepting where you are, over eighty percent of the people in the state I live are Christian and there is literally a church on almost every corner so there's definitely a need to be careful where I am. Anyway, I hope you didn't mind my little bit of advice. I also hope if you do decide to tell somebody that it goes well.

I would say, if you are in the United States, you have to realistically worry about someone slandering you, talking bad about you, making up rumors or lies, making your life hard. Some one may even be crazy or deranged and decide to do something cray, based upon your faith, but I would think it remote.
It would all depend upon your age, location, and how you present yourself, and your actions to others.
