HPs have been talking about their inability to delete coven material (Spells, articles, and videos). Is this on purpose r is it something can be resolved? If it is being done on purpose, may I ask why?

If the feature has been taken off from the site then there is a reason. This feature was disabled a couple of years back due to issues that occurred on the site and people abusing the feature. That is the most likely the reason why this happened. It's what I have been told. I actually prefer this feature off because some council members can turn against a coven and start deleting coven work and materials (I know from experience with this one member). Also the fact is that a fluff, per say from Spell Casters, might deleting the tons of articles and spells that actually carry useful information or just being an act of taking over the coven. The coven has had it's forums deleted by ignorant members trying to run or they think they know best for the coven. Some of these members are still on the site and can trick several people causing even more chaos on the site. If you want to edit your spell then it must be approved by a publisher or the site admin, Pet. I would think that the deletion feature would work the same and the deletion of an article/spell would need to be approved if it's not fully disabled.

I haven't thought of it the way SaturnWitch has and can see the points he makes, though I wish these features would be re-enabled if only allowed by the priest & priestess of the coven rather than council members as I can definitely see where editing alone would be a good ability to have without trying to go through a third party such as Petrarca, who is busy running the site. In the end it probably will remain like this indefinitely to avoid the aforementioned issues.

The ability to delete spells and articles has been removed due to past issues that arose from this feature. However spells and articles can still be edited, although all changes must be approved by a publisher. (Only Priests/Priestesses can edit spells though)

Saturnwitch, regardless if this feature was activated or not, council members would not be able to delete spells or articles. The ability to delete spells/articles and editing spells is only available to the priest and priestess.

If you wish to remove a spell, I suggest your coven leadership either mark the spell as spam, contact the admin, or edit the spell and then delete it's contents (This is sometimes done with fluffy articles in the spell casters coven). The spell could also be edited with a new spell put in it's place.

I still act like a leader in my coven though which makes me talk more along the lines of my pervious priest position that makes me speak along the terms of deletion. Plus when I say council I refer to the leaders as well. Perfectly normal and it happens. There are more articles that get approved compared to spells. I've noticed this from experience and other people. I do not suggest you go mailing the site admin to approve your edit or deleting your spell because that might make several members mail him. I'm pretty sure he already knows about spells that need deleting because I think there is a list he may have. It's like the editting feature on the site.

The coven leadership aren't the only ones allowed to edit spells if you are just referring to the priest and priestess though. Councils can edit spells as well but might have to be approved by your leaders first.

as mentioned, it was abused, so it was removed for all but the admin. sure, some people have the good intention of deleting a non-working item, but say someone is in a fight with a member. one member posts an article, the other member could instantly delete it just because it was posted by someone they don't like.

when i was in spellcasters, i would be editing articles. sometimes i would just delete the information and type in a useful article. now i'm an editor, i'm not rewriting articles, but i am cleaning them up and making them look presentable. that's the job of an editor, to fix articles, flag the ones that are plagiarized, rank and flag the non-woring ones. as mentioned above though, only the site admin can delete things, so you flag it. only if the spell/article is dangerous [telling someone to kill them self for example] should you mail the site admin Petrarca so he can immediately delete it. otherwise it just goes into a folder of 'non-working spells/articles, delete at some point' which is last on a very long list. everyone is council in spell casters, and full edits of information for council members is typically accepted. haven't been in spell casters recently, but i do believe spells cannot be edited by their members. [you can rank and flag them though]

in any other coven the council can edit spells and articles, but only the leaders can delete them [i believe] i've never had a spell/article deleted, so i think it goes into the folder for Pets approval.

when you edit an article, don't mail him, he will get back to you within the day with a yes or no, spamming his inbox with questions about an edit will most likely cause you to be blocked or worse.

Again, I'm just reinstating this. It was abused. Badly. Leaders would go a bit crazy, delete all spells and articles in a coven spellbook.

Usually Petrarca would remove them, and put all the content back, but I imagine it's a pain. What happened with Divine Spirits and SilverVixen is a good example.

Stuff happened, she deleted it all, and she was banned and all the content was put back.

I believe moderators have done this once or twice as well, though in the public forums.
