Question spritual animal

Why are so many people caught up in spiritual animal? And why are they all Wolves or a Ravens? I mean why is nobody a Buzzard, an Earthworm or maybe one of those Bald Mole Rats. I think I know the answer myself after 30 years of this. I'm just curious to hear from other people. I mean we can't all be Wolves and Ravens. can we?

A lot of people make up what their animal guide is. They have no idea on the truth of the matter. I KNOW mine is bear, as he came in my dreams. But I have relatives that have passed that are with me too. Guides come when you need them, not when you want them. So yeah, most don't even know how dumb they look when they say what their spirit animal is. Ha Ha...

You ask a good question, and I suspect the problem is that people believe that they have to have a "cool" animal such as wolf or raven if they are going to have a spirit animal. The truth of course is that the spirit animal comes to you because it has a lesson to teach. It chooses you rather than the other way around.

Personally, my spirit animal is a grey whale. In my coven we had some with cow, dragonfly, dog, deer, etc. Not a wolf or raven in the bunch.

you both bring up really good points they choose you. People who are just starting out have to realize they need to not push it so hard.

Mine is a fox. I know this because I met him in a dream when I was real little. Since people normally forget what their dream was and I didn't I knew it meant something special.

They make it up. It sounds better to them. Wolves and ravens are highly regarded and considered "cool" or "epic" so they make it up and say that it's their spirit animal. A know a couple people who are honest about it. My mothers spiritual animal is a giraffe, and my best friends' is a raccoon and everyone find that so hilarious or even "lame". Having a certain spirit animal isn't about which one is cooler.
Thanks for mentioning this!

Animal spirits tend to come and go as they are needed and I definitely believe we can have more than one guide. But the question is less about 'are they making it up?' and more about what constitutes what is made up and what is not. Often times, the people who are being referenced here are newer in their paths and don't know all there is to offer. Some are bombarded by their guides until the people they are guiding notice them and learn the lesson they give, while others are more subtle. It honestly really all depends on the spirit, the person, their spirituality, and all of that combined in the certain situation. Can you really judge those who say their spirit animal is something when you don't know their situation? Who are we to say that someone's situation is less valid than our own and why?

my spiritual animal was actually a lionfish. Supposedly I look mean and bad to people outside of my normal group of friends and family, and I get very enraged and have a sort of temper(compared to the venom) at people who i believe push me away for no reason. I think it just depends on who you are talking to. most people choose wolves and ravens because they are believed to be very spiritual animals
