My altar isn't as witchy as I'd like to be. All I have is candles and an inconspicuous symbol of the goddess Hecate. I'm still in the "broom closet" so I have to keep it simple.

I collect crystals so I have a pyramid box I keep things in, a mirror, candles, things that represent me behind it, and pictures that represent the gods. I want statues but I cant because I am in the closet at the moment.

I have a candle in a candle holder, two shells a friend found for me in bali (which i am planning to put sacred/moon water in) a tiger eye and smokey quarts, and that's it. It's no where near as magickal as i would want it to be, but i am still in the broom closet.

P.S a lot of us are in the broom closet here :)

My alter changes quite regularly depending on what I'm using it for so it has no real permanant apparatus. I don't abide much by any specific deities do I don't keep many symbols about the house but common objects are candles, crystals, bones, whatever I happen to feel is appropriate. The only semi permanent thing is a black mirror I made which hangs fairly close by but even that's more often covered up than not.

while Anubis is not one of the deities i pray to, it's so hard to find statues of lesser known Egyptian deities, my goddess i have a statue for [i don't say my deities, just a personal thing] but all my coven members believe different so we have a black candle and a white candle for each. everything changes depending on the Sabbat [orange alter cloth for Samhain, red, green and gold for Yule so on] we have a chalice, a plate with some type of cake/bread, some type of berry wine, a bowl of salt, a bowl of water, incense and incense burner, our athame's, bell, herbs and oils needed for spells, sage smudge, then whatever else is needed for the Sabbat [like decorative flowers or nuts, berries, fruit...]

starting out though, i only had incense, an athame, salt, water, cake and juice.
