Dragonologists

Hello everyone. I would like to give you some informations about the dragonologists and dragon slayers in history, from my personal researches and readings.

Dragonologists:

1. Merlin (500 A.C.), is known as the father of the west dragonology. According to Nenius, when king Vortigern gone to Wales, he tried to built a fortress on Daianas Emris. Unfortunately, when the walls were ready, at night someone was destroying them. There was a cave under the walls where two dragons were living. A red and a white dragon. Merlin went there one day and freed them, and the red one killed the white one. After that, king Vortigern got an idea from that, and this is how he won the Saxonians in history.

2.Edward Topstel (1700 A.C.) was one of the first English naturalists who wrote the book ''The History of the Four-legged beasts'', where he wrote with full description the part of the dragons. On a note, he wrote that dragons like cabbage and the apples are causing them stomach aches. This description was not been noticed after the readers found that as a joke.

3.Marco Polo (1300 A.C.) was an Italian researcher, he studied for a little while about dragons when he visited for first time China. He wrote on his journal about dragons and elephants and geosauruses. Also he mentioned about the cloths washing with asbestos (Chinese believed that asbestos was good to keep dragons away) in the deserts of Karakoha.

4.Fu Hsi (2962 B.C.) he was the first dragologist in history. At 2962 B.C. he met a dragon on the shores of the Yellow River in China. The dragon gave his the secret of writing. Fu Hsi used the Writing to civilize the people: he learned them how to do counting using compasses and yardsticks, how to write music, how to domesticate animals and how to fishing. He said to his pupils that the art to write is a very big responsibility. We are using the writing help humans, animals and plants.

Now about dragon slayers:

1.George of Cappadocia was a dragon slayer. He killed a symbolic dragon for nothing. He was a Christian, he believed that these creatures were the living demons of Satan. After that in the city called Sailin were wierd phenomenas. The earth became dead, nothing was growing. The animals died. The whole city disappeared. Now these day, this kingdom is like never existed in the map. Rumors are saying that the dragon never died and others are saying that the dragon's death made God mad and made him vanish everyone.

2. Other one was Beowulf, the Danish king (600 A.C.).The final act of the Anglo-Saxon poem Beowulf, depicts the hero Beowulf's fight with a dragon, the third monster he encounters in the epic. Returning from Heorot, where he killed Grendel and Grendel's mother, Beowulf becomes king of the Geats, and rules peacefully for 50 years until a slave angers a dragon by stealing a jewelled cup from its lair. The dragon destroys the homes of Beowulf's people causing him to decide to kill the dragon. With his thanes, he goes to the dragon's lair, where, faced with the beast, the thanes run leaving only Wiglaf to battle at Beowulf's side. The dragon wounds Beowulf fatally, and Wiglaf slays the dragon.

Some of these stories are legends and others are true, but yet there is a big research over these stories, where scientists will find if those facts are true or not. By the way, the legend of Beowulf, was the only one, from the stories I mentioned, which is just a legend, but it includes real facts. I hope that this was a great article, and I hope that you'll enjoy it.

Nicely done. Though I might add the Chinese did not scare off the dragons for they were worshiped. But rather they attempted to impress the dragons so they may bask in its radiance and learn some of its wisdom. Only Europeans would kill an eastern dragon without cause. Only because they had only seen the wrath of the western dragons and not the hospitality of the eastern.
