I recently devised a method of using or 'stealing' someone else's chi to make my chi manifest denser/faster, last longer etc. Hardly anyone really uses their chi, and they get more after a while anyway... but would this be considered, "black magic" or a "dark" form of sorcery?
I would call it a form of predation or energy vampirism. I don't think it has anything to do with magic.
People's qi is necessary for healthy living. As an acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist, whose job is to tend and correct people's qi, i can tell you 90% of the people (Americans) who walk into the clinic are qi deficient. I would disagree with the notion that people have excess qi to spare, although your mileage may vary.
Yes. And it's probably not the best use of your own energy either.
It's best to be very intentional about what outside sources you choose to draw energy from. I would suggest not using other people. Nature is the best source.
exactly. its not good for your chi to get taken. and taking someones chi would be a type of energy vampirism. you can take energy from plants or objects like crystals. you can always charge them and use them when you need to.
That's an interesting observation LdyGry. It seems that people have an overabundance in large crowds however. Have you seen this too? It seems part of the mob mentality. But then that excess that I'm observing might be a bit of their own projected to sort of feed the mob mentality as well.
I think an energetic one projects, which then makes a tangible energy (if that's clear), is different than someone's qi, which is a physiological byproduct of food and air similar, in a sense, to blood.
I totally know what you're talking about - say, at a concert or a festival there is definitely a thick energetic buzz in the air which people most certainly feed off of. So someone projects joy and excitement out into the world - this is not the same stuff as the refined qi that's running in your channels and circulating through your organs - but it is a type of energy nonetheless. I'm not sure it can be harnessed for anything other than a mood elevator/depressor. I wouldn't think of this human-created ambiant energy as fuel, per se, qi kind of fuel, the stuff of life, but it may just be outside my realm of experience.
People can be very animated, perhaps emotionally expressive, loud talkers, have sweeping hand gestures, be quite a large presence and still be very qi deficient. Oftentimes an excessive presentation is a marker for serious energetic stagnation.
Now, the terms qi and energy are used in a myriad of different ways in the occult community and one could make the argument about what's the difference (and it has been done on this site ad nauseum). To a practitioner of Chinese medicine - and practitioners of the Daoist arts - qi is everything and everything is qi. There is no distinction. So my efforts to thus make a distinction are of no use.

I whole-heartedly agree, these things are pretty much up for loose interpretation. But in order to achieve or harness a certain something in relation to the concepts, one would have to grasp it in a particular light, as I have. But that doesn't mean I hold no belief or respect in the divinity of another concept, method or form of 'energy'.
