On the Winter Solstice this year, there will be a full lunar eclipse, this is the first time this has happened in roughly 453 years, and also at the time of the eclipse it will appear the orions sword will be impaling the moon. Have anything to say?

i cannot wait!! make sure, everyone, that you are up during the night of december 20th as the eclipse will occur in the early morning hours of december 21st. (NOT the night of december 21st, the early morning, don't get confused)

heres a link about the eclipse:

this one you can search for your city and find out when the moon will be at its full illumination in your area:

hope this helps!! blessed be everyone and happy Yule! :)

Yes, this eclipse is at the winter solstice, the first time for hundreds of years. But there are many such eclipses every year. There was a partial one last June. (It might have been July, at my age the memory plays tricks!)

I witnessed the eclipse on the night of the 20th at about 2:30am (the morning of the 21st) It took about an hour for the earth to over shadow the moon. It had started around 1:30am. After the earth was out of the way a bit I went to sleep. I must say though that the energy in the air was quite exhilarating and the sight of Orin next to the moon was intriguing. I think that this year will be an interesting one as we move through the next to last year before the 12/21/12 phenomena. We are living in exciting times with all the celestial events that have been occurring and that are about to.

I was so disappointed! Where I live it was completely cloudy and I couldn't see a thing in the sky. I did go outside and look into the sky, though. The eclipse gave the air all around an orange tint. Still quite fascinating.
