It's not that the spell works, it's that you've made it work;you could 'make a spell' out of eating a slice of pie.
For a spell to be successful, it must have three aspects to it. Direction (a target), intent and power (the energy you use). So long as you channel your intent towards a target, using energy, you'll get result. Ritual tools, incense and timings are all just extras to help focus the mind on the task at hand.

spells are subtle, and they bring opportunities to help you achieve your goal. they're not obvious or you say some words and *poof* could of smoke appears. many who complain a spell failed typically fall into two categories, either

A. i cast a spell to become a vampire/faerie/wereswan but it failed because i don't understand the first thing about real magick.

or B. i cast a spell and focused on the end result being X so hard that i completely missed result Y which makes me conclude magick isn't real.

there are many reasons why spells don't work, or the results weren't as slap you in the face with a dead fish obvious as you were hoping. typically, a spell goes the most logical/simple path [i want more money, the spell will 99% of the time reward you with extra work instead of a huge lottery win] but people fixate on the fantasy they don't see the spells conclusion [i cast a love spell, not on anyone specific... but i hope it's my crush. now if you'll excuse me person who's asking if i'm free this weekend, i'm going to stalk my crush and wait for them to ask me out]

regarding spells that have worked for me... there's a few, but they're not wow worthy. i cast a job spell, then i went online and filled out 10 resumes, the next day i got an interview. i've never gotten one so fast in my life so i'm sure the spell set it up, but i had to find those jobs, i had to polish up my resume, and i had to type up a cover letter. the spell just gave my resume a 'notice me' vibe to the potential employers.

Everything above my post is true, but keep in mind that you must learn the basics before casting a spell.

Here are a couple helpful links:

Some spells on here work, and some do not. If it doesn't sound real, it's probably not. Magick can bring you luck, for example, but transforming, teleporting, creating a time loop, etc. is impossible. Despite this, I have found a few successful spells around here.

Keep in mind that a spell that works for me might not work for you, or vise versa. If you do not believe in a spell, there is a 0% chance that it will happen. If you do believe, have mastered the basics, and have a spell that is possible, you're good to go.

A spell that's worked for me (in kind of a strange way) recently was a job spell I did. I needed a job, and I'd been to 2 interviews and applied for countless positions but was coming up short. It was a candle spell performed on a full moon where I wrote out what I wanted in a job on a slip of paper and burned it. The next day I had an interview, and they said they wanted to hire me! But it gets better, I walked into another store hours later and was offered a job there! I was really feeling myself. But I heard nothing back from the job that supposedly wanted to hire me, and process with the other job was going slow...then one of the first places I interviewed at called me offering me a position. It wasn't what I wanted, but I went with it anyway because I needed the money. A few days into training I realized that this was exactly the kind of job I asked for. The environment was super positive and supportive, I got little gifts just for joining the team, and it paid well.

What I learned from this was that yes fire spells work quickly and affectively, but you still must give them time. I went into this spell calm, focused on my intention, and believing in myself and my personal power. My attitude during the spell was what made it take a little longer, because I was ready to be in the place where I belonged. If I had gone into it stressed, desperate, and frustrated, I would've gotten one of those two jobs and been stuck in a work environment that matched the way I felt. While I would have the money I needed, my mental health would have suffered. So my advice is make sure you're in a good place mentally before a spell. If you're emitting negative emotions, then you're going to end up in a negative situation whether your spell did give you your desired intention or not. Blessed be!

Also, just to add, a lot of people have more success with a spell they have wrote themselves verses a spell someone else wrote. When you write your own, it is a little bit easier to be clear with intent and focus on the outcome you are hoping to get from the spell. Not to say you can't use prewritten spells, but I just know a lot of people who don't like to. In general, anytime I am going to do a spell, I wrote it myself and find myself being a lot more successful.
