I don't really have any good book recommendations.
I would suggest however, things that interest and intrigue you.It could be anything in relation to magick.Read articles, find and research information that is to you "important to know".Many people suggest books, but begin where you think it is appropriate to begin. Good luck.

There are many books on Wicca, that does have aspects of witchcraft. But in over 75 years of being a witch I have never come across a book entirely about witchcraft. The problem is that almost all ancient witches were illiterate, and therefore wrote nothing down; knowledge was passed on verbally. I was taught very gradually, over a number of years, verbally. My teacher wrote nothing!
When witches did become able to write, they were extremely secretive! In most countries witchcraft was against the Law, until the UK allowed it in 1951. But even then, the general public were against it.
So, I would suggest that any books by Gerald Gardner,Alex Sanders, Maxine Sanders,Janet & Stewart Farrar, would be of help.

Thank you so much I will take myself to the library this evening.
I do however have a witch in my family but unfortunately passed when I was small, none of my family could tell me much as like you said she never wrote anything down

The best book on Wicca that I have in my library is "A Witches' Bible" by Janet & Stewart Farrar. It is published by Robert Hale Ltd. You should be able to find it in your local library.

Are you looking for books on Wicca or books on Traditional Witchcraft as they are two very different things?

If you're interested in books on Witchcraft I'd suggest these:

Witchcraft: Theory and Practice by Ly de Angeles

Witching Way of the Hollow Hill by Robin Artisson

Treading the Mill: Practical Craft Working in Modern Traditional Witchcraft by Nigel G. Pearson

A Witch Alone by Marian Green

Natural Witchcraft: The Timeless Arts and Crafts of the Country Witch by Marian Green
