Valerian root is wonderful and is most often used to treat insomnia. Oral capsules can be found at most drug stores, it can also be consumed in teas as well.

Valerian helped me a lot when I was in college. It has a calming effect and helps with anxiety.

Blessings!!! I have recently started to use Eleuthero in capsule form. I have been doing so for about a month now. I began to take it for stress and depression. I find I do sleep better at night and I have been unable to get angry or mad. I have had times where I felt depression trying to come about but my brain just evicted it. I have not felt this good in years and I am loving who I am becoming!!! The stress no longer controls my moods. I wish you best of luck.

I also suffer from insomnia along with sleep walking and night terrors. All the prescriptions sleep aides I was given only intensified the sleep walking and night terrors. About a year ago, I was given a sample of an herbal remedy called Power to sleep PM made by Irwin Naturals (manufactured in Southern California). It's main active ingredient is valerian extract. It comes in a soft gel with fish oil, it is rapidly absorbed by the body and fast acting. It did absolute wonders for me! I only use it as i need it (about 10 times a month) and have not found it to be "habit forming". I get restful sleep with it along with pleasant dreams. I also take another supplement from Irwin Naturals for depression called Sunny Mood that has helped regulate my moods (without stripping all emotion or awful side effects caused by anti-depressants).

Do your own research to determine if this is best for you.

I have the same problems. What has helped me tremendously is lavender. I burn lavender incense as I sleep and I have lavender oil in an oil burner by my bed for at least an house before bedtime. This helps with the insomnia and the ADHD because of its calming effects. For depression I drink a mint and honey infused tea. I keep the container in the freezer so that it is ice cold. it is a great pic me up especially in the morning. If any of these help please let me know!
