Not at all. If you are both willing and trying to learn then you couldn't be further from a "fake" practitioner.

Firstly I want to talk about the idea of a powerful witch though. Everyone has the potential to be a skilled practitioner as it's rooted primarily in the effort they put in to studying. Sure some people may or may not have a natural affinity for it but that will only carry you so far, someone who's naturally brilliant at all things magical won't get anywhere unless they put the effort in and likewise someone who doesn't take to it straight away can far exceed any "natural witch" provided they stick at it.

I would say that the fact that you don't feel super magical or divine is actually a positive thing, it means that you're being realistic. Ultimately everyone is human and so we all start on a roughly even playing field, no one is innately mystical and the fact that you're aware of this means that you're not pretending to be something you're not.

As for the "fakers" it's my personal opinion that the only truly fake people are those that claim to cast spells for others without really attempting anything or putting on a small song and dance only to take their money, with the obvious exception of role players and fantasy authors. So basically don't worry about being fake or not being able to cast any spells, so long as you're worried about being fake you will in fact be genuine.

I think that the first thing to remember is that Wicca is first and foremost a religion. Yes, Wiccans do believe in magic and they do magic every time they cast a circle or charge a ritual tool. But spell casting is a very, very small part of being Wiccan. Many long-time, experienced Wiccans seldom cast spells at all unless there is a very specific need. So there is no need to think of yourself as a "faker" just because you aren't casting spells right now.

It takes time and dedicated study to learn how and why magic works and to master the techniques necessary to be successful at spellcasting. Perhaps you can get your mother and your grandmother to work with you on learning how to do spells. After all, they will be far better teachers than a random stranger that you meet on a message board.

Something else to keep in mind, Wicca is not something that is passed down in the genes, nor for that matter do your genes make you a Witch. Becoming a Wiccan or a Witch is a conscious decision each of us makes and then each of us dedicates our lives to becoming through study and practice. Yes, some people do seem to have more talent than others. But to say one is a Witch or a Wiccan because their ancestors were is like saying someone is a pianist because their parents played the piano. You aren't a pianist until you sit down at the piano and learn how to play.
