This is magick.

Ok, lately people have been asking what magick is. This post might help you (I hope).

Magick is a belief. My belief is magick is the cosmic energy of the universe itself. To me magick is no spell, ritual, etc. Its our energy and what we make of it. The spell is our energy.

Some may ask: "How is magick a belief?"

This is not everyones opinion, but this is mine. Magick is a belief because you have two different groups of people: Believers and non-believers. If you look closely in the believers group you will see different things like magick is the cosmic energy of the universe, magick is spells, etc. See, thats one way to show magick is a belief. Plus non-believers usually follow science and don't beleive in magick. You have two different groups who believe in different things. Hint: They BELIEVE in different things.
There are also some reasons why magick is a belief.
1. No one knows everything.
2. No one has been here since the beginning of time.
3. Everyone can disagree with things in magick related terms.
4. It can depend on your religion. Note: You don't have to have a religion to engage in the craft.
These are reasons why magick is a belief.
Remember your belief is yours and no one should hate you for that because that person also has their own belief.
I believe magick is a belief and I have facts supporting it. If you think magick is something then express it, but remember to give facts on why you believe in it.

I believe like you magick is belief and sorta like a religion. I mean if you believe in magick you believe in some force or power be it within you or in nature. If you don't believe your spell will work many say of course it won't as it's brought down by your negativity, but I also classify magick as the energy harnessed in spell casting. Of course this doesn't apply to all as some people who practice magick in a certain path surprising don't ever cast spells but just follow the religious like beliefs of their path such as the path of a wiccan.
In the end magick to me is a lifestyle even if it is hidden and helps shape your life. I personally have made very few breakthroughs in my learning of magick but it has opened my eyes to the impossible so to me if I never actually learn to cast spells the knowledge and friends I have gained have helped to improve my life and myself.

Good belief. Plus magick itself is not a religion in my veiw. Magick is part of different religion. Even without a religion you can engage in the craft.

I personally do not think Magick is in anyway a religion. Magick is a way of life to me. One does not have to believe in any "God or Goddess" to practice.

My keyword was sorta like a religion as it requires strong belief, though I'm sure one could argue it is a religion.

Magic does not require the worship of a deity or devotion to a certain thing.

Yep if it were a religion, I wouldn't practice it either.

I agree that magick is not a religion like I said in my above post (Post # 3).

Magick is an art and a lifestyle. It needs no special "belief". If it did, athiests wouldn't use it (and they do). The only "belief" necessary is in yourself. People don't need to know HOW it works, only how to use it. I know it works, but the details as to why is a mystery. We have our theories, but none are solid truths. Magick is a self-empowering practise that centers around you having the ability to make a difference in your own life and other's lives internally and externally. To some it is an intimate relationship with nature, but not to all. How magick works can be explained scientifically, psychologically, and spiritually. I prefer to use all three. It is, after all, viewing all three forms of being--body, mind and spirit. They are three parts of the whole of our existence, so I feel they work together in separate ways.
