pass down powers?

My mom has been a witch for over 40 years. Now she wants to pass her "powers" down to the first born child. Is that possible or is she nuts. We (the kids) never trained under her nor did she share it with us but she feels she has to pass it down to my sister before she dies.

She missed her opportunity to pass down her knowledge to her children while they were young. She can begin training you and your sister now, but there is no measure by which she can do so in the form she's describing.

actual transference can happen, just like transference of spirits.

There is in some cultures rituals and/or beliefs of passing down "powers". But many believe you can just inherit them. There is one major one that is accepted that happens at age 18-a coming of age sort of thing-but for that one you had to be trained under the parent. At this point it sounds like she could teach you what she knows but not some allmighty-"here you go have all my abilities" since there is no practicality in that if the person doesn't have the knowledge to back it up

in my country
those who practice the craft in the provinces uses a stone to pass down they're magick and knowledge
I'm not sure how it's done but many of the healers and witches here have done that already ,plus the fact that they were trained too ..
