Quick Hello!

Hola!

I'm SP (SingingPlant), a learning ayahuasquero interested in plant based healing, soul flight, spirit work, singing work, and slow movement meditation. I've been fortunate to learn from a practicing Shipbo Don in Peru, he taught me icaros and taught me what plant-dieting does.

When I stumbled upon this site, I was wondering about the malleable nature of ayahuasca and the traditions surrounding it. I wanted to see if there was anything out there that could be used alongside neo-ayahuasca practice, the same way shamanism seems to cherry pick. The Mestizo tradition incorporates many rituals in their aya ceremonies, rituals using candle work, certain smelling incense, and stones/crystals, and that got me thinking where those practices came from. And it seems those practices came from folk magick and catholicism, and once I realized that I started reading up on what certain practices did. Boom. I landed here for a bit and found it interesting since these practices are simply out in the open, something I never would have seen when I was learning in Peru. Practicing curanderos tend to keep their knowledge on the down low so jealousy doesn't arise between practicing plant teachers and so no one receives a hex out of jealousy, since that seems to be a reoccurring theme in Latin America.

BUt this site seems like it is filled with people who simply want to push their craft and knowledge forward. By sharing, one would receive more, at least I would hope.

ANyways, I'm excited to learn, practice, and contribute to this site and help move knowledge ahead.

I would love to read any recommended books out there!

May You stay safe and guarded as you flip through this site. May Your Higher Self grant You wisdom in what You share & practice.

Much love, protection, self-empowerment to anyone who took time to glance at this.

-SP
