Lately I've been seeing spiders everywhere and when I say everywhere I mean every day in every building and in my dreams for the past week. I'm terrified of them even though I hate to admit it but I don't think I have anything to fear with them. What brought me to looking for help/information is tonight one landed on my phone as I was reading an article. Out of fear I ended up loosing sight of it. Then used a spell to force it to reveal itself and ended up killing it. I know it's just a spider but I've never felt so horrible for killing something in my life an that's coming from a life long hunter. Clearly if the spider meant me harm it would have landed two inches away onto me. Also a few days ago a Beatle like big dropped from my ceiling dead and only a husk remaining I believe it was the spider. I need answers does anyone know of a spirit or deity that may have a part in this? And Oman a spell anything and how to make amends for what I've done

There are many creatures that are a great help to Mankind. Most people will know of the benefit of Bees, for pollination and honey. But another creature of great benefit is the spider!
Why? Because the biggest danger in the spread of disease is the common housefly! They contaminate our food by their feet!
Spiders eat them. Do you know I have no flies in my house? Because I never kill a spider!
There are spiders that can hurt you; but not if you leave them alone!

Spiders have various spiritual meanings. I used to be frightened by them until I started to look at their symbolism. From what I learned, if you see them often it is time to sit back and reflect on your life. Is something bothering you? Do you feel stuck in an upsetting or uncomfortable situation? Do you feel caught in some ones web? Are you happy with the life you have woven for yourself?

You do not have to answer the questions here. But do take time to reflect on them. Also do not feel bad for killing one. We all do at times, mostly without knowing. Rolling over in bed, moving furniture and sometimes swallowing them in our sleep (Ick!).

At one point I had a hidden sack of eggs in my bedroom. It hatched and the whole apartment was covered. After that I started noticing spiders everywhere I went, and dreaming of them. Some would call it coincidence. Others would say not. I looked them up and reflected on my life. Now I welcome every spider I see, and revel in the knowledge and awareness it offers. The spider may not come to you for a specific reason. However I feel we notice these things when our subconscious mind is trying to bring something to a conscious level ;)

Thank you for the information ere. I'll have to do some inward reflection for sure. I don't think I would feel this bad over a regular killing of a spider I think it's more the fact that out of fear and without even thinking I used magic to force something against it's will to reveal itself so I could kill it even when it meant me no harm. The magic I used may not have even worked and it could have been complete coincidence that it came out at that time but the intent was still there. Do you or anyone else know of a cleansing ritual for such things?

Kyr~ I can relate to how you must feel. I myself do not kill them; they are the best insect control there is! I even let them walk around on my hands/ arms. Here's a little outside-the-box thinking: why not offer food crumbs to attract more insects, and thus, spiders? Think of it as a way to offer them a sacrifice! It annoys me to no end when people kill them simply out of fear and ignorance. They especially love houseflies, find them to be a feast!

Lol bran but what if another spider doesn't come along and now I just have bugs in my house. Besides once the bugs were gone it may get short on food. But that does give me an idea. I know of one more spider in my basement. I doubt it gets much food down there so I'll catch it and move it to my garden. Then we can both mutually benefit. It's not much but it may be a start

You can always use borax (non-lethal) or cornmeal for pest control. Make sure the borax doesn't get ingested by kids, pets, or even adults! I think your basement spider will appreciate a move outside! Lots of bugs/ insects this time of year. Best of luck to you!

I usually move spiders outside but they usually just come back in. It is a bad year for spiders around here because they had so much to eat last year, they over produced. I keep getting bit and instinctively swat. It may just be the same for you. I said I was not going to use pesticides but as it is not my property the entire house is scheduled to be sprayed inside and out next month. The spiders in the barn are all being eaten by birds and the overgrowth on property is almost gone. So I imagine since the pond is dry and pest control is coming there will not be near as many soon. While nature is magical, I do not see anythinng supernatural about a spider surplus in your area. :-)

For most cleansings I either burn sage, do an energy sweep with a feather or take a bath with a touch of lemon and sea salt. It is rare I do actual drawn out rituals.
