What does this mean?

Hey everyone.
I cast my first spell today. I've been interested in witchcraft and wicca for some time now. However, I decided to do plenty of research and become more aware of it all before I cast any spells. And now I think I am pretty informed about most things.
However, the spell I did was a love spell. And after proceeding with the spell, my candles flame got slightly out of control. And by that I mean the flame grew unbelievably big at one point and then it seemed it was almost like being blown.
It eventually went back to normal but I heard a sort of 'popping' sound and saw my glass had cracked. This also happened a few minutes later again.
Could anyone tell me what signs these could be? I'm not too sure.
Thank you very much!

How close was the glass to the candle? The heat from the flame can cause it to crack or break.
